As if by some miracle, King Adrian glared at Emperor Caius "Now, now, Your Highness. I don't believe that scolding him will gain any useful information." The room grew still, and all the servants slowly crept away in fear of the emperor's rage. It seemed as though hours passed in mere seconds, as Emperor Caius stood still, his scarred hands placed on the table evenly. "...Very well, I will not punish the boy immediately. However, he better explain himself or who knows what might happen next..." Emperor Caius muttered gruffly with a sigh as he slowly sat back down, a small frown bent his mouth in annoyance.
But that's when every single piece of confidence drained from Lucas' body. "T-thank you, Your Highness...I...um..." Lucas stammered nervously as he realized the two powerful characters were waiting for Lucas to explain himself "Go on..." Emperor Caius urged Lucas impatiently, as King Adrian looked up at Lucas with pleading yet furious eyes. Lucas took a deep breath and steadied himself before continuing "On my way here, I decided to go the other way...That's when I found a pool and a boy..." Lucas mumbled in a cautious tone, Lucas didn't want to share exactly what happened with the two rulers, especially the fact that Nico had told him about the prophecy and his special ability. "What did this boy say to you?" The emperor tensed, but not as if he was mad...almost...like he was scared...But a man of such stature would never admit to that. "He told me to get out, so I did." Lucas lied calmly, it wasn't exactly a lie- but it wasn't the whole truth.
Emperor Caius studied Lucas' face intensely for a moment before he sighed. "Very well, we can talk of this later. We have more important matters to attend to..." Lucas sighed in relief as he quickly took his seat next to his father. The pressure in the room dissipated as some of the servants returned to their posts and the others offered wine and other snacks to the people in the room. The Draconian War Room was surprisingly small (smaller than the pool room) with a gold horseshoe-shaped table in the middle and many maps, bookshelves, flora, and royal portraits surrounding the room. The room's walls were dark brown painted wood and the floor was a dark cream-colored tile, and a large chandelier was centered above the table. Emperor Caius sat on the outside of the curved table in the middle, King Adrian sat to the left of the emperor, Lucas sat on his father's left, Princess Valeria sat quietly on the right of Emperor Caius, and a Draconian that Lucas hadn't seen yet sat on the right of the Princess. The new Draconian had shaggy brown hair that covered his eyebrows, sharp features, gold eyes, black horns, slightly tanned skin, and pointed ears- he also looked surprisingly young, around 20 or 23 years of age. "Before we begin...how about introductions?" Princess Valeria spoke for only the second time, her voice soft but it aired a sense of authority- just like her father's. Emper Caius and King Adrian introduced themselves first, then Lucas, Valeria, and finally the new Draconian stood up and politely bowed "My name is Adonis, I am one of the royal advisors. It's a pleasure to meet humans for the first time..."
"Let's not mess up this time, shall we?"
