"Run?" I asked Steve as he so obviously was getting ready for bed, dressed in his pj bottom and nothing else.
"No," he chuckled, looking down at my running outfit before looking outside at the darkness, "it's bedtime, what are you doing?"
"Going for a run," I smirked, "are you going to let me, a poor, helpless, young lady go running on her own at night?"
"I think if anyone tried to attack you they'd be unconscious in a matter of seconds, you're all right darling," he replied smartly.
"Just come on a run with me," I laughed out my nose.
"You're only asking because you feel bad that you were too busy with a woman this morning to come on a run with me," he smirked slowly.
"Okay Captain, there's no need to call me out, I had prior engagements this morning," I told him with a small laugh.
"With Wanda," he raised his brows with a growing smile.
"How does everyone know about this?"
"A few of us placed bets on it at Starks party, I lost $20 this morning," he informed me.
"Who won?" I smirked slightly.
"NAT!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air.
"Yeah that makes sense," I giggled, hands on my hips, "are you actually going to bed?"
He referenced down to his outfit and nodded slowly, "enjoy though."
"You're boring," I remarked.
"I know," he smiled, walking off with a tiny heart shaped mug of herbal tea in his hand just as Wanda walked in, wearing her own running gear.
"Steve," she beamed, "I assume you're not coming then?"
"Not tonight," he laughed out of his nose, "please look out for each other and be safe."
"Yes Sir," I smirked, giving him a salute.
"Ready?" Wanda smiled at me, holding her hand out as Steve smiled toward the both of us.
I laughed out my nose and nodded, taking her hand and linking our fingers together as she exhaled shakily and stood on her tip toes to kiss me. With a small smile of my own, I kissed her back softly, with my free hand on her hip and at a tie on the side of her underwear. I pulled away with furrowed brows and pulled at the waistband of her shorts to reveal bikini bottoms.
"I don't know if you can run in these," I informed her, looking down her top next.
"No, I'd say it'll be hard," she giggled, pulling me out of the kitchen and toward the elevator.
"So where are we ... going?"
"The roof," she smiled.
"The pool?" I checked.
She hummed and shrugged, "pota-to, pota-toe."
I laughed out my nose and allowed her to take me with her into the elevator before hitting the top button that unfortunately did go past Tony's apartment but by the time we got to the top and Wanda was only wearing a little black bikini, suddenly I didn't care much. As my hands traveled down her body and she sighed, trying to pull me with her to the heated pool lit up with the moon light and a few underwater bulbs, I pulled my tshirt over my head and let Wanda take off my shorts, piling all of our clothes on the floor by the pool as Wanda dived effortlessly under the water. My mouth fell open ever so lightly when she came back up, turning around with her hair slicked back and a smile on her lips as she lightly paddled on the water, waiting for me to jump in next.
"You look unreal," I told her.
"I'm in a bikini in a swimming pool and it's literally dark."
"You're just gorgeous I don't make the rules," I smiled, jumping in after her and slashing over the sides of the building as the brunette giggled, wrapping her arms around my neck as I drifted back to the top.
"Do you like the bikini?" she smiled, playing with my hair that was falling down my back.
"I love the bikini," I smirked, my hands on her hips as she wrapped her legs around my waist, tipping her head back so her hair was under the water.
As her head was dipped back, I smiled slowly and untied the waist bows of her bikini bottoms with my fingers until they both came undone and her bikini bottoms floated to the top of the water. With a giggle, she picked her head back up and looked at me with a raise of her eyebrows.
"Really?" she asked with an amused smile.
"They did that in their own, I swear," I smiled back at her.
"Well in that case," she laughed out her nose, bringing my sports bra over my head and letting that float off too.
"See that was so obviously you though," I chuckled.
She shrugged, playing with my wet hair at the base of my head, "I've really enjoyed these past few days with you. I haven't felt very at home here but I do with you ... so thank you."
"You don't need to thank me, if anything I've got some making up to do," I replied softly, my hands on her bum, keeping her up against my body.
She shook her head as she moved to cup my cheek with her left hand, bringing our lips together in a gentle, slow kiss, her wet hair dripping down onto my face as I left two final pecks on her soft lips before pulling back and lightly spinning us around in circles.
"I love you," she whispered, making me freeze and drop her to the shallower floor, "I know you don't think I should but I need you to know that I do."
"You really shouldn't," I told her, "you can't love me, you barely know me princess."
"I know that you're the same person who made me coffee this morning after giving me the most amazing, loving sex if ever had. I know you always put this team above yourself and would do anything to protect them. I know that you're a pretty awful cook but you do make a lovely omelette. I know you can't eat oranges but you stood there and sliced up an orange for Stark when he was having a bad day. You're selfless and you're so far from a bad person. I don't care what you did in your past, I don't care how many people you've hurt or how many people you've dated. I love the Y/N/N right now that undoes my bikini bottoms in the swimming pool and folds my clothes at the end of her bed ... so I'm sorry but I do, I love you," she exhaled, her arms still around my neck as she spoke.
I searched her eyes for some fault in her words but there was nothing, it was pure admiration and respect.
"I don't know if I can say it back," I told her quietly.
"Okay, that's- that's okay," she nodded slowly and quietly.
"I do really- I have a lot of feelings for you, it's not that I don't- you know- I've just never actually said it before ... to anyone," I explained.
"You don't need to say it back," she assured me, moving to cup both of my cheeks, "I just wanted you to know."
I nodded, "I don't know when I'll be able to say it-"
"It's okay," she smiled sadly, "I'm not going anywhere."
I nodded once more before I pulled her hips back toward me, a smile growing on her face as our lips met softly and lovingly, my hand carefully untangling her bikini top.
