"It was a bust," I told Stark when we got back to the meeting room after the 2 hour silent flight home.
"You got some files though," he encouraged.
"They're after an infinity stone," I nodded, "doesn't really involve us though."
"It will if they get hold of it and level the entire continent," Steve butt in.
"They want the time stone, the time stone doesn't have that kind of power," I replied a little too quickly, looking back at him as he quirked his head.
"How would you know that?" Stark asked as Nat, Bucky, Beka and Wanda all looked between each other and Wanda squeezed my hand tightly from beside me.
"I read," I told him.
"I've never seen you with a book in your hand," Steve added.
"She reads," Wanda and Beka both said at exactly the same time.
"Okay, what's happening?" Stark asked as Steve shook his head slowly.
"I feel like I've missed something," Steve spoke up.
I bit my cheek and looked over at Nat who exhaled shakily and gave me a 'I think it's time to say something' look with her eyes. Shaking my own head slowly, Wanda squeezed my hand again, making me look over at her as the room remained silent. Softening her gaze, she gave me a sad smile as I shook my head again.
"Alright, what the fuck is going on?" Stark asked again, louder this time.
"Y/N/N," Bucky sighed, as his eyes went soft too.
"No," I told him firmly, "it's none of anyone's fucking business."
"What isn't? What do you know Buck?" Steve continued.
"You shouldn't have said anything babe," Beka told her man, leaning back in her seat with a huff.
"I feel like I can't say," Bucky mumbled to Steve.
"Is this about the Darkhold?" Stark asked me as my eyes widened.
"What's the Darkhold?" Steve kept going.
"What the FUCK is everyone's sudden interest in me?" I almost shouted, placing the palms of my hands on my forehead.
"Baby," Wanda whispered, lightly placing a kiss on my shoulder, "everyone's just worried, just play it off," she told me quietly.
I exhaled shakily and looked up at the room, all sat on the edge of their seats waiting for me to say something.
"I read a book and it said something about the time stone, that's all," I lied.
"Everyone knows Y/N/N," Nat sighed with sad eyes.
"No they don't, would you please shut the fuck up," I told her, my chin quivering, "this isn't your shit Tasha, this is mine."
"I DEMAND TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!" Steve shouted for the first time maybe ever as we all looked over to him, "what is the Darkhold? Why is Y/N/N so angry and what does everyone know that I don't?"
"It's the book of the damned," I told him slowly, a stray tear falling down my cheek.
"It's what's been going on recently," Wanda continued for me, moving to grab my hand again, holding it softly, "it's how she knows about time stone and unfortunately every other person in this room knows ... apart from you."
"Why does no one ever tell me this shit?" Steve sighed.
"Wasn't our shit to share," Beka added.
"You kiss your mother with that mouth?" Nat asked him as he rolled his eyes.
