✰ 𝖼𝗁𝖺𝗉𝗍𝖾𝗋 𝗍𝗁𝗂𝗋𝗍𝗒-𝗇𝗂𝗇𝖾 ✰SHE WAS BEING QUESTIONED BY Sheriff Minetta. Fangs was in the next room. She wanted to die. It was all coming out, everything she had suppressed and hidden so she didn't kill herself when she was twelve. Sheriff Minetta was asking her to relive things that she couldn't even put into words. "Sheriff Minetta, you have to protect my family. In a few hours, the Ghoulies are gonna know it was me. I got their leader put in jail, they've been trying to find me for years. My older sister has already threatened my little sisters, and she's working with the Ghoulies. I can't let anything happen to my family." Emilia said, stressed, terrified, and feeling sick.
Sheriff Minetta leant back against his chair. "I put a deputy out, he's watching your house day and night." the man said, and Emilia sighed.
"That won't do anything. They broke into my school, right under my teacher's nose when they kidnapped me. You have to put them in a safe house, or something." Emilia begged, a tear slipping down her cheeks.
"It's just a gang. Get out of here before I book you for possession of a weapon." Sheriff Minetta said, and Emilia just looked at him. How could he care so little?
Emilia texted Sweet Pea. She told him not to come to the Sheriff's Department with her, Jughead and Mrs. McCoy. Instead, she gave him a different task. Go to her house, slip in through the backdoor. Take her grandparents and sisters, help them gather clothes, food, blankets, entertainment, and lock them in the hidden basement of the house.
Back when James and Anna first bought their house on Elm Street, they completely furnished their basement. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a television, a full kitchen. They had made an apartment for their son, in case he ever needed a place to live that wasn't Sunnyside. It was hidden behind a trap door, it wasn't on any plans for the house.
Sweet Pea locked the family in the way Emilia told him to, relaying the instructions he had been given. When it was safe again, Emilia herself would bring them out. Though Anna and James protested, they trusted Emilia, and they had to protect Claudia and Livvy. This was the only sure way Emilia knew that the Ghoulies wouldn't find them.
A little while later, she was in the room Fangs' holding cell was in with Mrs. McCoy and Jughead. "You're being held because you were in possession of a weapon on school property." Attorney McCoy said, standing with Fangs at his cell.
"My switchblade's for protection." Fangs said, glancing at Emilia.
"Yes. Well, they have 24 hours to make something stick. In the meantime, you exercise your right to remain the hell silent." Attorney McCoy said, and Fangs nodded.
Emilia stepped over to him. "Why'd you do it? They're gonna come after you now. Everyone knows who you are, Emmy." Fangs said with a heavy sigh.
"Julia was gonna release my name tonight. Now, I don't have to meet with her, because I guarantee she would have every Ghoulie waiting with her. I'm on the offense now, Fangs. This is my play. My family is safe, and we can get ahead of this." Emilia said, explaining the reasoning behind her thinking to reveal her identity.
"Emilia, I contacted your appointed lawyer. I will be taking over your case now. If they come after you with the little evidence they think they have regarding the final incident that occurred the night Sheriff Keller raided the den you were held in, we will fight it." Attorney McCoy promised.
She didn't say what Emilia had done, and she was glad for it. "Thank you. Can you contain it? So the rumors don't spread all over town?" Emilia asked, and Attorney McCoy nodded.
