Groaning, I opened my eyes to see the dark cavern that surrounded me. I felt light headed and dizzy as my eyes moved about my surroundings. Only a few small beams of sunlight were shining through a canopy above providing me with enough light to see.
Where am i? How long was I unconscious? I tried to move my arms to touch my face only to find them stuck above my head.
Leaning my head back I looked up to see they were bound together by some kind of silk. When I found I couldn't move my legs either I looked down to see the same thing, no only that but I was not simply laying in a bed or on the ground, I was suspended in the air tied down to a massive spider's web.
My heart rate started to pick up as I attempted to pull free of the silky bindings to no avail. I quickly stopped as pain shot through my arm from the movement.
Memories of what happened before I blacked out came rushing back as I started panicking. With my heart now racing and fear taking over I squirmed in my restraints trying to break free despite my injuries, but my bindings were much stronger than they looked. I whined pitifully and stopped, panting after exerting so much energy trying to break free. This wasn't working–
"You keep squirming like a little worm and you're going to tear open those injuries along your arm, little moth~" A voice spoke up from the dark.
I flinched and looked all around for the source of the voice but couldn't see anything in the darkness of the pit. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't scream. Such loud noises give me a headache."
I could feel the slightest movement on the web from somewhere down below and angled my head to peer into the dark.
My breath got caught in my throat as I saw light reflecting off a metallic surface as a set of spider legs crept closer. I knew all too well who was speaking to me but it did little to quell the growing fear I felt inside of me. In fact it only ended up making me even more fearful.
"Please let me go." I knew begging for my life was probably pointless but I had little to no other options at this point.
"hmm? let you go? Why would I do that? especially after you destroyed my beautiful web..." He emerged from the shadows with his arms crossed and head tilted as he gazed down at me.
He's upset I destroyed his web? "i-i never meant to–"
"That does not change the fact that you still did it." He stepped towards me. "but now I have to do damage control and fix both my web you destroyed." He lifted one of his legs looking down at the web we were currently on. "I spent all night weaving this, and it will most likely take me an entire day to finish the rest of it."
He ran one hand down his face while his second set of arms was crossed over his chest. There were numerous scars across his body and one of his spider legs was completely missing.
Only now did I notice the armor-like plating covering his legs, abdomen, and arms. I had been too focused on running away before to notice how he was dressed.
I tensed as he got closer, half expecting him to lunge at me but instead he inspected my bindings and looked me over, seeming displeased at the sight of a leaf in my hair.
Picking the offending object from my hair he tossed it away and circled around me with one hand on his chin as he thought to himself. "About how many– what is it called... years? How many years old are you human?"
"I'm twenty two?" I answered sheepishly.
He hummed to himself before talking to himself. "still plenty young..."
