Ignorance was sweet bliss, a soothing comfort of unconsciousness, that shielded me from the pain and uncertainty that soon would no doubt be awaiting me. Yet, my body was relentless, its sore, aching form demanding my wakefulness despite my desperate desire to linger in the peaceful void. I wanted to escape the raw realities of the nightmarish hunt that were marked permanently on my mind forever more.

As I slowly awoke, I opened my eyes and stared up at a cracked ceiling, my head disoriented and bewildered trying to remember where I was. Wrapped in a warm blanket, I could tell I was naked underneath it and strangely I could smell the clean scent of soap on my skin, making me wonder who had washed me. Sitting up slowly with a groan of discomfort, my aching sore muscles protesting.

I found myself in a bedroom I didn't recognise with basic furniture. On an upturned crate the low amber light of a gas lamp illuminated the room, revealing a mostly empty room. The rest of the furniture was functional only, with a large chest for storage and a single wooden chair in the corner, reminding me of the barracks. I then realised the windows had been purposefully bricked up, blocking out the light. There was one single door, however, where it led was unknown.

I swallowed hard, noticing a constricting sensation and when my hand instinctively reached up, my fingertips touched a thick leather material encircling my neck, realising with a pang of dread that it was a dog collar. Panic welled within me as I attempted to unfasten it, only to find a padlock securing the buckle, preventing its removal. Unlike the chain collar, previously locked around my neck, this one was far more degrading.

The last thing I remembered was the Captain coming and taking me away from the cellar on the hunt grounds. Memories crashed over me, recalling how he had enacted vengeance on Dennis and Borris without remorse. Everything that happened seemed like a bizarre dream now.

I didn't know where I was, adding to the fear of the unknown, my mind my own worst enemy imagining all manner of scenarios. Could the military soldiers have accosted the Captain when I was unconscious and taken me somewhere? Maybe Commander Erwin Smith had stopped Levi from taking me away and I was now locked up.

"Hello? Is someone there??" I yelled at the top of my voice, "Anyone??"

I shifted on the bed, when a deep throbbing ache came from my ankle. I pulled the cover away, revealing my foot that had been bandaged. I touched the bruised area, wincing in pain. The memory of the injury inflicted by Dennis when I had resisted in the cellar came rushing back. The adrenaline surging in my veins had masked the full extent of the injury with my mind focussed on my current predicament. With the repeated damage to my ankle, I feared long term repercussions.

I then stiffened, hearing locks on the only door being unlocked, seemingly many secured the door. Each clunk of metal made my heart thud with anxiety, uncertain who would walk through the door. Blood began to pump inside of my body, my muscles twitched in readiness to fight or flight, my heart racing but I had to remain calm and assess the situation. With my body in this state, I had little chance against whomever had incarcerated me here. I had no weapons and was naked but I wouldn't go down without a fight.

"Captain... Levi?" I said confused as he entered the room.

Carefully, he locked the door meticulously behind him, sealing us together inside of the windowless room.

My anxious eyes lingered on the Captain's appearance, noting the rolled-up sleeves that revealed bandages on his arms stained with spots of blood seeping through the fabric. A red stain marred his shirt in his stomach area, while his trousers also bore traces of blood. The sight of the bloodstains gave me pause, casting a shadow of concern to prick my senses.

"What happened?' I asked confused, "Why are you injured?"

Levi's gaze pierced through me, his eyes filled with an unwavering intensity that made me acutely aware of my own vulnerability, as I sat before him naked. The weight of his stare pressed down upon my bare form, causing me to feel exposed and self-conscious under his gaze.
