Lan Wangji felt restless as he changed into the third set. The next part was supposed to be shot beside the fountains. It was a picturesque area that had been decked with string lights to make it appear even more romantic. He had done the decoration himself. He wanted to propose to his Ying'er formally with a ring. He checked the box to find it secure. He had chosen an obsidian ring offset with a few rubies, his colour. For the wedding he had chosen a platinum ring set with Saphires. Both rings would represent his Ying'er's past and future.

When he arrived at the scene he was alone. "Professor, Where is Wei-Xiong?" Wen Ning asked.

"He was with you," Lan Wangji pointed out.

"We went to see if the lighting was alright and we had to set up the electric candles and everything. He had to go and change. We started without him. He should have gone back to Jingshi to change," Nie Huissang explained.

"He didn't come," Lan Wangji informed, worry etched on his face. "Where did you leave him?"

"In the flower garden, where we did the last set," Wen Ning informed.

"I'll go see," Lan Wangji left.

The garden was empty. With the sun having set it was relatively dark. "Wei Ying, where are you?" he called out.

There was no response. Something strange hit his nostril and he realized what it was. He dialled his phone. "Wei Ying is missing. I am standing at his last known location. Someone sprayed tranquilizer here," he informed.

Nie Huissang and Wen Ning soon arrived at the scene. "Where could brother Nie have gone to?" Nie Huissang wondered aloud.

Lan Wangji turned to Wen Ning. "Can you smell anything strange?"

Wen Ning's eyes widened. "It smells like an anesthetic," he recalled.

Song Lan arrived on the scene along with Xiao Xingchen. "The Lan's weren't allowing me entry. Mr. Xiao vouched for me. That was when I explained the situation to him." Song Lan explained.

"The nearest exit point from Gusu is to the east. That is the likeliest route the kidnappers could have taken," Nie Huissang pitched in. Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan took a note of it and started in that direction.

"Master Nie, please contact your brother. We may have need of it. Wen Ning ask your sister to catch an earlier flight. We do not know how Wei Wuxian or the baby will react to the anesthetic," Lan Wangji instructed and followed the other men.

When Wei Wuxian opened his eyes, he was in a van. His mouth was taped, and his limbs were tied. He looked around. A boy dressed in black sat with him. He had a knife in his hand and a red scarf around his neck. He wore his hair short, like an omega but exuded the power of an alpha. The alpha noticed that Wei Wuxian was awake and put the knife to his own lips, signaling him to be quiet. Wei Wuxian noted that there was fresh blood on the knife. His heart started pounding at that and tears started flowing. The alpha bent down so that there was an inch between their faces.

"It's better for everyone if you don't start wailing, understand," he said.

He then pulled the tape off his mouth and before Wei Wuxian could say anything, the alpha thrust a candy in his mouth and sealed it back up. "Now sit back like a good omega and let the alpha do his thing." he said.

Wei Wuxian realized that there was something wrong with the candy as he soon fell asleep.

"A boy has been found at the eastern gate, but it isn't Wei Wuxian," Xiao Xingchen informed.

"He has been gutted and has also suffered a significant blood loss. He has been taken to the Lan Hospital where he is being checked but the prognosis is dim. Whoever attacked him had no intention of letting him survive. What is more, His face has been cut and there was no ID found on him. His left eye has been gouged out." Song Lan narrated.

"If the person who did this has Brother Wei then we need to be prepared with medical help," Nie Huissang emphasized.

"Qing Jie has already boarded her flight and should be in Gusu within two hours," Wen Ning informed.

"What about surveillance?" Lan Wangji asked.

"All traffic cameras in the route show a ten minute window of static. Someone must have hacked the system," Song Lan informed.

"Wei Wuxian, how can you be so careless," Lan Wangji raged.

"Alpha, please control yourself," Song Lan reminded.

Lan Wangji took a calming breath and dialed another number. "Get yourself in Gusu. It's not a choice. Your brother has been kidnapped, a witness knifed and gutted. It's serious."

"Whom did you call?" Lan Xichen asked, coming forward.

"Jiang Cheng. If this is related to the Jiang experiments then he is the only person who can give us an inkling of who or what we are up against," Lan Wangji concluded.

When Wei Wuxian opened his eyes he was in a dark cell. From the distance he could hear the sound of dogs barking. Around him were other cells filled with what he could figure out people but they didn't look human.

"Awake yet?" the alpha who had earlier drugged him greeted him with a hushed whisper. In the darkness and stillness of his cell Wei Wuxian startled.

"Who are you?" Wei Wuxian asked.

"You can call me Su She for now. Do you know what you are doing here?" asked the alpha.

Wei Wuxian shook his head. "No idea," Wei Wuxian played dumb.

"Come on. Are all Wei's this stupid?" the alpha commented.

"How many Weis do you know?" Wei Wuxian asked.

"Ah, so not so stupid, just playing dumb. Smart. We are in the Zhiliao camp. Every cell over here holds a Zhiliao offspring, being kept for their blood or being grown to become a breeder. There are breeders as young as twelve years old who have received their first heat. But you are special. You aren't just a Zhiliao Omega. You are a Sangxue and they want to remove your mark and then extract your scent gland, like they did with your mother," the alpha informed.

"They extracted my mother's scent gland?" Wei Wuxian gasped.

"You really were a stupid kid. Did you think that the Jiangs really killed your parents by crushing them with a car? The car stopped your parent but didn't kill them. They were taken elsewhere where your mother's scent gland was extracted and she was used as a breeder in the hope of bearing more Sangxue. She unfortunately died while giving birth to her daughter. Your father was already dead by then, his sperms stored to impregnate unsuspecting women to bear more Zhiliao omegas."

"I have a sister?" Wei Wuxian exclaimed.

"Hush. Why did I say that Weis are stupid. You have a sister and the cells around you hold many who are your half-brothers and half-sisters. Now are you going to help me get them out or are you going to be a wailing hormonal mess like a typical omega?" the man who called himself Su She asked.

"Can you get me out of this cell?" Wei Wuxian asked.

The alpha gave a curt nod and took out something from his pocket. Wei Wuxian gagged when he realized what it was. It was an eyeball stored in a zip locked pouch. The man took out the eyeball and placed it against the security scanner and the door slip open. "They really shouldn't give access to everyone who agrees with their plan," the alpha tsked.

"Who is that?" Wei Wuxian asked, pointing to the eyeball.

"That's Su She, I am just the temporary replacement. Now let's free some Weis," the alpha enthused. Wei Wuxian braced himself and nodded.

"Wait," the alpha stopped. He handed a syringe to Wei Wuxian. "If push comes to shove, this syringe contains my venom. Inject into your bite and the people around will all become Wen Zhuliu but don't do it if I am alive because number one, I don't want to die and number two, I won't let harm fall upon you. I know you don't trust me. Hell, if even I trust myself. But I won't let these people succeed in getting their hands on either your pheromone or blood," the alpha promised with a solemn nod, one which Wei Wuxian returned without hesitation.
