Willow shifted slightly in her seat, the growing need to find a bathroom became too urgent for Willow to ignore. She abruptly stood up, her discomfort evident in her hurried movements. Wesley, noticing her sudden departure, called out, "Where are you going?"
"I need to find a bathroom," Willow replied, her tone clipped as she began to walk away. Wesley, ever the protective brother, quickly fell into step beside her.
"I'll come with you," he offered, guiding her through the crowd that filled the large lawn.
As they navigated the partygoers, Wesley was constantly intercepted by girls vying for his attention. The first girl they encountered called out, "Wesley!" with a playful lilt in her voice. He turned with a charming smile, replying, "Don't worry, I'll be back soon," before continuing on.
Another girl approached with a flirtatious grin. "Wes, where are you off to?" she asked, her eyes gleaming.
"Just picking some flowers for you, sweetheart," he teased, casting a glance at Willow with a smirk.
"I'd definitely make your night more that she mi amor ," the girl suggested, her tone dripping with suggestion and her accent as strong as ever.
Wesley chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Tempting... but this one's family. I'll come back for you, princess," he promised with a wink.
As they continued to weave through the crowd, Willow couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and irritation. Wesley's effortless charm with these girls was both endearing and exasperating. She realised that her presence might be holding him back from fully enjoying the party, and for a moment, she almost laughed at the absurdity of it all.
However, her amusement was short-lived as the primal need to relieve herself grew more pressing. She quickened her pace, determined to find a bathroom, leaving Wesley to catch up as best he could. They finally reached the large pivoting doors that led into the house, offering a brief respite from the noise and chaos outside.
Willow pushed the doors open and stepped inside, hoping that a bathroom would be close by. The grand interior was impressive, with its polished marble floors and intricate woodwork, but Willow was too focused on her search to fully appreciate the surroundings. Her urgency grew with each passing moment, and she began to open doors at random, her desperation mounting as she moved deeper into the labyrinthine house.
Each door revealed something different—a sitting room, a library, a beautifully furnished bedroom—but no bathroom. As she ventured deeper into the house, her urgency only grew, making it harder to take in the luxurious surroundings. The soft glow of chandelier light highlighted the intricate details of the woodwork and the polished marble floors, but all of it was lost on Willow as she became more desperate.
She quickened her pace, her discomfort growing, as she tried door after door, frustration mounting with each failed attempt. The house, with its endless corridors and lavish rooms, felt like a maze designed to keep her from reaching her destination.
Turning a corner sharply in her rush, Willow suddenly collided with something—or someone—and tumbled to the ground. The impact left her momentarily dazed, and as she gathered her thoughts, she heard a smooth, familiar voice above her.
"Are you alright?"
Willow looked up to see Gianluca extending his hand down to her, an apologetic expression on his face. His dark hair fell gracefully over his eyes, and his broad shoulders, perfectly sculpted, added to his majestic presence. For a moment, she simply stared, her mind taking a second to catch up with the situation.
