Syrax screeched as she neared the ground, her wings creating a force that pushed back anyone near the Royal carriage. The golden dragon slowly descended, pressing its claws into the ground below.
It was a fine day with very little clouds and plenty of sunshine, something that needed to be taken advantage of when you had a dragon on hand. Rhaenyra took the opportunity, grabbing her closest friends and dragging them outside to soak up the sunlight.
Y/N laughed, their arms still wrapped firmly around Rhaenyra's waist as Syrax landed.
The dragon-keepers surrounded Syrax, calling out demands for the dragon to obey while Rhaenyra and Y/N safely made it to the ground.
Rhaenyra hoped off of the saddle, sliding her glove off with her teeth. She extended her hand for Y/N to hold. Y/N gladly took it and slid off of the saddle, their feet landing on the gravel below.
Alicent emerged from the carriage, greeting the two with a smile. She held two books in her hand- one belonging to her and the other belonging to Y/N.
She handed it to Y/N as they neared.
"You must give it a try, Alicent," Y/N pleaded, tilting their head at their friend, "The weather is splendid and Syrax has become a joy to ride as of late."
