This has no other connections to any other ideas to this book. Me, Mom, and Dad thought about and talked about this idea a while back. We couldn't think how to think how to get Uncle Henry and Aunt Em into Oz with Dorothy so this is going to be my sad attempt to execute this idea. This takes place in Return to Oz.

Dorothy never really had many friends in Kansas. She never had time for friends since she's always helping her aunt and uncle on the farm. That all changed when she found herself in the land of Oz. That's where she met her three best friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin woodman, and the cowardly Lion.

Her last trip wasn't much of a trip to see her friends but to save them. She even made some new friends on the way. Those friends were Tiktok, Jack Pumpkinhead, Mr. Gump and Ozma. Dorothy hasn't told her aunt or uncle about her new journey in Oz with her new friends. She doesn't want to tell them, not after the doctor tried to have her forget her friends.

Dorothy woke up from the night before, one of the few where she did sleep. She had a nightmare about the Gnome king. She didn't like them, seeing him win by eating her friends and she can't help them. Dorothy was glad the nightmares weren't true. Dorothy calmed herself and started to put on her daily clothes. She had on a light pink dress and a pair of dark blue shoes. Dorothy quickly went in the kitchen for breakfast with Toto at her heels.

"Good morning Aunt Em, Good morning Uncle Henry" Dorothy said as she got to the kitchen.

"Good morning, hun" Aunt Em replied to Dorothy.

"Good morning there, Dorothy" Uncle Henry happily replied to Dorothy.

Dorothy smiled as she sat down at the kitchen table. Aunt Em put breakfast on the table and they started to eat.

"Dorothy, after breakfast, can you get some eggs for tomorrow?" Aunt Em asked Dorothy.

"Sure thing Aunt Em" Dorothy replied.

The three ate their breakfast quickly. Dorothy went to get her basket and went to the chickens, making sure Toto didn't scare them. Dorothy started to collect eggs and Uncle Henry started to tend to the other animals.

Dorothy also picked up how it was a cloudy day. Being a bit paranoid if a tornado would come again, Aunt Em made sure Dorothy stayed inside for the day after she collected the eggs. So with that, Dorothy was in her room. She had Toto in her lap.

"Toto, do you want to hear about my last visit to Oz?" Dorothy asked the dog.

The dog happily barked back at Dorothy, wanting to hear the story. Dorothy told Toto the story of how Oz seemed to be in ruins, how Tinman and Lion with everyone else in the Emerald city were turned to stone, how she met some new friends and the villains. She told how the Gnome king did his whole guessing game thing and how Scarecrow was the first to be an orement. Toto perked up when he heard about the Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion. Dorothy seemed a little sad telling some of it or was it fear? Dorothy and Toto then heard a knock from her room door.

"Come in" Dorothy said loud enough for the other person to hear.

Aunt Em walked into the room.

"Hey Hun" Aunt Em said as she walked in the room. "You are doing ok?"

"Yes Aunt Em" Dorothy replied. "I'm doing ok"

"I know that look Dorothy, even though you haven't talked about it since the doctor" Aunt Em started. "You're thinking of Oz again" she continued.

Dorothy quickly looked up at Aunt Em and looked back down.

"I am" Dorothy said in a whisper. "I'm hoping my friends are ok"

Aunt Em sighed.

"You know Oz isn't really real right Dorothy" Aunt Em said.

"It is real" Dorothy said.

"Dorothy please" Aunt Em said.

Dorothy got off of her bed and went to her desk. She opened up a drawer in the desk. Dorothy had some small stuff to remind her of her friends in the drawer that Ozma gave her. Well it was stuff from her friends sent by Ozma. Dorothy took out a journal.

"Dorothy" Aunt Em said with some worry.

"This was an old journal that Scarecrow and Tinman wrote letters and notes to each other or others in" Dorothy said.

Aunt Em looked confused then anything.

"First off where did you get that?" Aunt Em.

"I got it from Oz" Dorothy replied. "See" Dorothy opened to the first page of the journal.

The first page said "The Tin woodman and Scarecrow of Oz". The writing seemed different, with different styles of writing that wasn't Dorothy's handwriting. Dorothy sat back down on the bed. Aunt Em decided to play along with Dorothy to cheer her up some on a gloomy day.

"Ok then, what type of stuff is in here" Aunt Em sighed.

Dorothy smiled and went to a page of Scarecrow. It had a song written down as a note to remember.

"I like this page because it's the song Scarecrow used to help comfort me, Tinman and Lion when we were scared or sad during our journey of the Wicked Witch of the West" Dorothy happily said.

Aunt Em nodded and Dorothy turned to a different page. This page had some food and ingredients and it was titled as: Food for Dorothy and Lion.

Some more pages later, the more it seemed to Aunt Em that some of this was true. She didn't believe in a talking Scarecrow or a man made out of tin wrote this but some friends Dorothy might have made in town. She probably believed that the kids pretended like this for fun. Aunt Em as well didn't believe that logic, that kids most likely wouldn't like to spend so much time with a pretend journal.

"Here's a sadder page, I know because it seemed Tinman must have been sad while writing it" Dorothy pointed out while pointing at some dried dark tears.

Aunt Em nodded along. It started to rain heavily and Uncle Henry was covered head to toe. Aunt Em and Dorothy heard him coming inside by a loud bang of him tripping.

"I told that man to come in sooner" Aunt Em sighed.

Dorothy chuckled at this. Aunt Em went to the door.

"Let's go check on him" Aunt Em said to Dorothy.

"You start on that while I put this away" Dorothy said while she stood up.

After they checked on Uncle Henry, Dorothy went back to her room. Dorothy got the journal again and turned to the song. She hummed to it as she read it. After awhile of that, she closed the journal. Dorothy looked over to the mirror on her desk. In said mirror Dorothy saw Ozma appear.

I'm leaving this on a cliff hanger right here for now. I'm open to ideas for part two of the chapter. I'm hoping you enjoy this. Bye bye.
