【 season two, episode fourteen 】
𝑵𝑰𝑪𝑲 𝑾𝑶𝑲𝑬 𝑼𝑷 𝑨 𝑭𝑬𝑾 𝑯𝑶𝑼𝑹𝑺 𝑳𝑨𝑻𝑬𝑹, A Guilty heavy heart, the fight...for everything he's put her through and now he was lying to her sneaking away. He sat up his eyes drifted to Cassandra.. He ran his fingertips across her bare skin softly - part of him wanted her to wake up so he would have no choice but to tell her the truth part of him wanted her to stay asleep.
Cassandra stired slightly feeling his gentle touches, a contrast to what it was ealier. She smiled feeling it her Nick.
She felt him slip out of the bed but she kept her eyes closed, she didn't want to break the peace. She didn't want to fight with him again. She hated fighting with him. She chose to stand by him. Why make him feel guilty for it.
As Nick reached for the door, Cassandra called out to him opening her eyes
"Nick?"
Nick closed his eyes tightly before turning towards her
"Cass I can explain I-"
"Just come back to me okay. Whatever you think you need to do, do it. Just don't lie" Cassandra whispered, making Nick smile, she was his girl...always his girl. The person who stood beside him through everything
They thought differently but they knew everything they did was to protect eachother.
"I'll be back" Nick reassured her before turning the door knob and leaving Cassandra to fall back into a deep sleep

Later that day, Cassandra was helping around the colony with the children when she spotted that Nick coming through the fence. She breathed out a deep sigh of relief as she handed the kids the last bit of food ruffling one of the boys dark curls Before turning towards Nick and making her way towards him
Once she reached him she wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her head into his neck as he pulled her close - Nick let out a deep breath feeling her against himself, being able to hold her in his arms.
After the last time he left her and nearly lost her. After what Marco had shown him...they shot a whole family. A little girl. He needed this.
Nick started to move forward slowly still in her embrace, his arms wrapped around her waist
"What's wrong?" Cassandra asked noticing a difference in him
"You were right. Baby you were right. I am so sorry" Nick whispered pulling away from the hug and resting his head against hers "we need to go. We need to go now"
