The next morning, Y/N woke up first, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. She carefully slipped out of bed, not wanting to disturb Namjoon, who was still peacefully sleeping. After changing into something comfortable, she quietly made her way out of the room, tiptoeing down the stairs.

The house was calm and quiet, the comforting aroma of fresh morning air filling the space. Y/N noticed that Namjoon’s mother was already up and outside in the backyard, tending to the garden. Y/N smiled to herself, feeling a warmth in her chest as she decided to join her.

Stepping outside, Y/N was greeted by the cool morning breeze and the sight of the sun gently rising over the horizon. Namjoon’s mother was kneeling by a patch of flowers, her hands delicately working the soil. Y/N approached her quietly, not wanting to startle her.

“Good morning,” Y/N greeted softly, her voice carrying a warmth that mirrored the sunlight.

Namjoon’s mother looked up, her face breaking into a welcoming smile. “Good morning, dear,” she replied, standing up and brushing the dirt off her hands. “You’re up early.”

Y/N nodded, returning the smile. “I didn’t want to wake Namjoon. It’s so peaceful out here, I thought I’d come and enjoy the morning with you.”

“I’m glad you did,” she said, motioning for Y/N to join her on the small bench in the corner of the garden. They both sat down, taking in the serene surroundings. The garden was full of life, with colorful flowers blooming and birds singing in the trees. It was a place of calm and beauty, much like the woman sitting beside her.

“Your garden is beautiful,” Y/N commented, admiring the flowers. “It must take a lot of care to keep it looking like this.”

Namjoon’s mother chuckled softly. “It does, but it’s my little sanctuary. It gives me time to think, to reflect. And it’s rewarding to see it grow.”

Y/N nodded, understanding the sentiment. “It must be a wonderful feeling, nurturing something from the ground up.”

His mother glanced at her, a knowing smile on her face. “It’s not unlike raising a child, really. It takes time, patience, and a lot of love. But it’s the most fulfilling thing you can do.”

Y/N smiled, feeling a sense of comfort in her words. “I imagine it is. I’m excited, but I also feel a bit nervous about it all.”

Namjoon’s mother reached over and gently patted Y/N’s hand. “It’s natural to feel that way. But you have nothing to worry about. You and Namjoon will be wonderful parents. I can see how much love you already have for your little one.”

Y/N’s heart swelled at the reassurance. “Thank you,” she said softly, her voice filled with gratitude. “That means a lot.”

They sat in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying the quiet morning together. Y/N felt a deep connection forming with Namjoon’s mother, one that she cherished. It was moments like these that made her feel truly at home in this family.

Eventually, Namjoon’s mother broke the silence. “Would you like to help me with the garden?” she asked, a gentle smile on her face. “I could use an extra pair of hands.”

Y/N nodded eagerly. “I’d love to.”

They spent the next hour working together, planting new flowers and tending to the existing ones. Y/N found it to be a calming and grounding experience, one that allowed her to bond with Namjoon’s mother in a meaningful way.

As they worked, they talked about everything from the pregnancy to Y/N’s career, to Namjoon’s childhood stories that made them both laugh. The conversation flowed easily, and Y/N felt more and more at ease with each passing minute.

By the time they were done, the garden looked even more vibrant than before, and Y/N felt a deep sense of satisfaction. Namjoon’s mother smiled at her, clearly pleased with their work. “You did a wonderful job, dear. Thank you for helping me.”

“It was my pleasure,” Y/N replied, smiling back. “I really enjoyed it.”

As they made their way back inside, they were greeted by the smell of breakfast cooking. Namjoon had woken up and was already in the kitchen, preparing a meal for everyone. When he saw them coming in from the garden, he grinned, his eyes lighting up at the sight of Y/N.

“Good morning,” he greeted, walking over to give Y/N a quick kiss. “I was wondering where you disappeared to.”

“Just helping your mom in the garden,” Y/N said with a smile. “It was a nice way to start the day.”

Namjoon’s mother chuckled. “She’s a natural,” she said, giving Y/N a proud look. “I might just recruit her the next time you both visit.”

Namjoon laughed, pulling Y/N into a warm embrace. “Sounds like a plan,” he said, his voice full of affection. “But for now, how about we all have breakfast?”

They all sat down at the table, the morning light streaming in through the windows, casting a warm glow over everything. As they enjoyed the meal together, Y/N felt an overwhelming sense of contentment. This was what family was all about—love, support, and the simple joys of being together. And she knew that as they continued on this journey, they would always have each other to lean on.
