A Year Of Change
Chapter Eight
Marco

Star had told him to meet her after school by the lockers. He had no idea what she was planning, but he was glad things were now normal between them. Well, not normal, but better than normal.

Marco waited by the lockers. He was wearing his casual clothes: jeans, a red tank, because red was his favorite color, and some tennis shoes. He looked at his watch. Star was a little late, but she would come.

"Are you ready for the best date of your life?" Star smile running to him. Like the Star he knew a year ago. Like the Star he loved.

"Depends if it is." Marco laughed, but Star gave him a cold hard stare. "I was joking."

"Yeah. I know." Star laughed. She took his arm and dragged him to where ever they were headed to.

They arrived at his house and she took him to the back yard. It was lighted with beautiful lights, that were probably from the garage. In the center was a table.

"So is it the best date ever yet?" Star asked. It sure was beautiful, but Marco won't let her know that just yet.

"Maybe." He smiled as he took a seat next to the table. Star followed him by seating across from him.

"Well, I guess I should've tried harder." She frowned.

"No. It looks perfect." Marco leaned in to kiss her.

Star

She had made everything to go perfect tonight. From the setting to the food. She had planned for them to eat some Mexican food, which Marco's mom gladly made for them.

Marco looked so handsome even though his jeans didn't really go with the theme, but who cares. His hair was has usual messy, and he was smiling like crazy.

Star was wearing a simple yellow sundress, and her hair was up in a ponytail.

"So, how was your classes today?" Star asked taking a bite out of her taco.

"They were okay. I don't have much homework, because I got it all done at school." Marco replied after finishing eating his bite.

"I wish I was as smart as you." Star looked down. She didn't make great grades.

"I'll tutor you some time. Your really smart. You could make great grades." Marco tried to cheer her up.

"Thanks." She smiled.
