The evening sky over Ilocos Norte was a tapestry of fading pinks and oranges, the sun dipping below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the coast. Irene Marcos Araneta stood by the window of her suite, the air thick with the humid scent of the sea. She sipped from her glass of red wine, her eyes fixed on the endless expanse of water, though her mind was far from the serene view outside.

Her thoughts were on the woman in the next room.

Her husband had left the province earlier in the day, flying back to Manila on business. She had watched him pack, kissed him goodbye at the hotel entrance, the usual pleasantries exchanged. He had no reason to suspect anything, and why would he? To the world, they were the perfect couple—poised, powerful, a force to be reckoned with.

But tonight, in the stillness of their luxury suite, Irene was waiting for someone else.

A soft knock at the door sent a shiver down her spine. She knew it was her. Dominique.

Irene hesitated for only a moment before setting down her glass and moving toward the door. She had told herself she wouldn’t let this happen again, that last time had been a mistake—a lapse in judgment, a moment of weakness. But Dominique had a way of pulling her back, drawing her in with a seductiveness that was impossible to resist.

She opened the door slowly, her breath catching in her throat as Dominique stepped inside. Dressed in a sleek, form-fitting black dress that emphasized her sharp curves and tall frame, she looked every bit the predator that she was. Her eyes locked onto Irene’s immediately, filled with a smoldering intensity that made Irene’s knees feel weak.

“Good evening, Mrs. Araneta,” Dominique purred, her voice low and dripping with amusement.

“Dominique,” Irene greeted, her tone steady despite the rush of heat coursing through her body. She closed the door behind Dominique, the soft click sounding louder in the quiet room than it should have.

Dominique stepped closer, her movements graceful, almost feline. She trailed her fingertips along the edge of a nearby table, her eyes never leaving Irene’s. “I was beginning to think you wouldn’t invite me in,” she teased, a knowing smile playing at the corners of her lips.

Irene forced herself to stand her ground, her pulse quickening as Dominique’s proximity set her nerves alight. “You shouldn’t be here,” Irene whispered, though even she could hear the lack of conviction in her voice.

Dominique’s smile widened as she took another step forward, her body close enough now that Irene could feel the warmth radiating from her. “But you wanted me to come,” she replied, her voice soft, intimate. “Didn’t you?”

Irene swallowed hard, her gaze dropping to Dominique’s lips for a split second before she caught herself. There was no point in lying. Dominique could read her too well.

“You make it hard to say no,” Irene admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Good.” Dominique’s hand slid to the small of Irene’s back, pulling her closer in a fluid, dominant motion. The contact sent a jolt of desire straight to Irene’s core, and before she could stop herself, she leaned in, her lips finding Dominique’s in a kiss that was soft but charged with electricity.

Dominique deepened the kiss instantly, her hands roaming over Irene’s body with a possessiveness that made Irene gasp against her lips. It was intoxicating, the way Dominique kissed her—like she was claiming her, like she knew every secret corner of her desires and was intent on exploring them all.
