Clips from the previous movie play out of Joy [Amy Poehler], including her skating along with a memory of Riley doing the same. We crossfade to the text "the little voices inside your head," then to the rest of the emotions at the console. More text appears, reading "know you inside and out." We then fade to Riley, her family and her friends.
Iroha (Atsumi Tanezaki): Happy birthday, Riley!
Then back inside her head.
Joy: Our little girl is growing up so fast! (At her 13th birthday party, Riley blows out the "13" candles on her cake) And things couldn't be better.
The music stops as the scene cuts to "but everything changes."
The logo show such as Trinity Optimum Production, Netflix, Toei, Disney, Haziq Hafriz The Magical, Hasbro, Toei Animation and Pixar Animation Studios.
Sadness (Phyllis Smith): What is that?
The alarm goes full blast as Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" starts, scaring the emotions. A wrecking ball crashes through the window, startling Joy. A construction crew comes up.
Foreman: Okay, let's clear it all out. It's (He kicks the door open) DEMO DAY! (His fellow workers cheer.)
Joy: Demo?!
(Joy ducks underneath a ladder.)
Joy: Hey, what's happening?
Disgust (Liza Lapira): (While she and Sadness move away from a worker hammering a structure) Waaaah! (Sadness starts crying.) Who are you people?!
Another worker saws a couch in half. Fear [Tony Hale] jumps up.
Anger (Lewis Black): WHAT'S GOING ON?! (He blows up, but Joy pulls him away.)
Joy: W-w-wait! You can't-- (A piece of the structure falls down, and Joy jumps. Construction is finished, and Joy notices the new button pad.) Hey, hey, what are you doin'?!
Worker: Alright, she's all set!
Joy: Set with what?!
The crew lowers itself. Then we cut to Joy noticing a new color.
Joy: Orange? Who made the console orange?
Anger: Do I look orange?
Fear: I didn't touch it.
Disgust: Orange is not my color.
Sadness: Not me.
It turns out that an all-new emotion, Anxiety [Maya Hawke], had her finger on the console.
Anxiety: Hello! (The other four original emotions scream and hide behind Joy.) Oh my gosh, I'm Anxiety. (She picks up her bags.) Where can I put my stuff?
Joy: A new emotion! Wow!
Anxiety: (As she drops her bags) Oh, I'm sorry. We wanted to make such a good first impression--
Disgust: (Coming up from behind Joy, she waves her hand) Uh-uh-uh, what do you mean "we?"
Then zoom out from Riley's head as show outside when Riley, Iroha and her friends are talk to Riley's friends at school before six unknown appeared with a baby dragon come to them.
Iroha: Uh, who are you?
Komugi (Maria Naganawa): You're not are human, right?
Sunny (Jenna Warren): That's right, we're the pony and two of them are unicorn. I'm Sunny Starscout, and this is my friends, Izzy, Hitch, Pipp, Zipp, Misty and the baby dragon named Sparky.
Iroha and her friends shocked after she introduced herself and the other.
Cut to text reading "the feel good movie of 2024," with "good" changing to "sad," "angry," "afraid," "disgusted," "anxious," "envious," "ennui," and "embarrassed," then the cycle repeating, until it becomes "everything." Especially for the new friends.
