FLUTTER: A BROKEN REFLECTION

Flutter was flying around Gardenview, aimlessly wandering the large area. The scenery was amazing outside, she always wondered why none of the other Toons came outside that often. Maybe it's because she was a butterfly, it'd make sense if she preferred nature more than the others. Admittedly though, she was beginning to get bored. She's been flying in circles for a while now, not really knowing where else to go. She decided to fly towards the lobby to see if anyone was there.

She entered the lobby to take a small break , but she was immediately greeted with Poppy running up to her, an excited look on her face. Flutter looked behind Poppy, and saw multiple other Toons as well. Specifically, Boxten, Tisha and Rodger. Flutter was perplexed by this, she never figured they really talked to each other. She was  probably just out of touch with most events that take place within the building, she mostly kept to herself. She could have sworn she heard Poppy talking, but she figured she was wrong and focused on the Toons behind them.

They were in front of an elevator, looking a little bit tense. Boxten and Rodger seemed to be talking about something, Tisha waiting patiently behind them. Flutter figured they were doing a run, and focused her attention back on Poppy. To her surprise, Poppy was staring at her now, a smile on her face as she waited for an answer. Flutter tilted her head in confusion and Poppy sighed beginning to repeat everything else she said previously.

"Okay, so Rodger needs additional research for a case, right? Well, me and Tisha wanted to come along too! I don't think Boxten wants to; he looks suuuuper awkward. He's probably just bored like me, but I don't think doing a run makes you any less bored, right? Unless he likes running for his life! Well anyways-"

Poppy takes another deep breath and continues.

"Do you wanna come? You're all speedy and can help us deal with those weird looking versions of us! What do you say?" She finally inhaled again. Flutter pondered for a bit, causing Poppy to cross her arms and tappher foot impatiently. Flutter felt kind of bad for making her wait, so she nodded. Poppy let out a cheer and ran back over to the other three, Flutter flying close behind. Poppy was surprisingly slow, or maybe Flutter really was just fast. She couldn't tell.

Rodger was the first to notice her, and excused himself from his and Boxten's conversation to go greet Flutter. He looked up at her, extending his hand to greet her.

"Ah, Flutter. I'm glad you decided to come, we could use the assistance." Rodger said, staring at her as his hand remained extended. Flutter simply stared and furrowed her eyebrows, waiting for him to realize.

"..."

Rodger looked confusingly at Flutter, and back down at his hand. His eye widened and he quickly pulled back, clearing his throat.

"Apologies, I'd forgotten." Rodger said, lowering his head in embarrassment. He turned around and began speaking with Boxten again. Flutter nodded and began flapping her wings to lift herself off the floor. The sudden gusts of wind catch Boxten and Tisha's attention, and they both gave a simple wave. Flutter nodded at both of them as a way of saying hello back and looked around for Poppy. She was standing eagerly by the elevator. She would sigh if she could, Poppy was somehow omnipresent.

"GUYS!!!" Poppy yells out. Everyone jumps and turns towards her.

"Can we go already, it's been foreeeeever!" Poppy whines, leaning against the wall limply.

"Yeah... I- I guess we can, right?" Boxten asks as he turns towards Tisha and Rodger. The two a few skeptical glances, but evrntually nod their heads in agreement. Boxten nods and heads inside of the elevator, the countdown queue beginning. Poppy jumps in with him, as excited as ever. Tisha walks in shortly after, Rodger and Flutter right behind. Poppy counted down as the seconds ticked before the elevator descended, everyone bracing themselves.
