Izuku POV

So today is the day of the days the day I have the sports festival the day my mom has her last surgery before she comes home. Why is there so much going on today. Today will also be the day Taro finally gets her well-deserved freedom and I get my well-deserved sleep, but I'm not sure. When I close my eyes, I immediately think of the snake with the blood dripping down her face, does she deserve to die like this?

But did Taro deserve to die like that, with her being choked until her head flying off? That's the only thing that helps me get some sleep. Otherwise I'd probably be a sleepless zombie walking around.

I wonder how I got here. From a little boy who would probably have to go to an mental hospital to a boy who would take part in the sports festival. The sports festival begins fear and terror are upon me. I only have one favore and the festival has several stages. I have to manage to use this favore properly, otherwise I'll literally be quirkless the whole time. Not that I won't be in the end, so to speak. I won't be able to do much with a single favor. I have to do most of it myself.

But I've lived like this for most of my life so it won't cause me too many problems. I start running I am not exactly running fast. There's no point in running ahead. I might as well let others do my work. I have a lot of adrenaline from running away from bullies all the time so I'm positive about that. There's a first time for everything.

I run past but a few destroyed robots. At the beginning there were a few small obstacles. But nothing really serious. Until I stand in front of a huge hole. There are ropes from stone to stone. If I fall underneath, I'm lost. I could try to stay on the ropes and hold them. But that would take a long time. So I do something else. I take a running start and run onto the rope. My balance is relatively good. I once balanced on a roof and have often done it several times afterwards.

The faster I am, the less chance I have of falling. After I've finally made it across, I take a deep breath. I didn't even realize I have been holding my breath. Now I start to run again, and this time I mean really fast. I overtake many who have already lost their energy. I am in my element in the race.

Until I come across a minefield. I read about a person who is able to jump on water without using a quirk, for that he had to be very light and fast, so fast that he hardly puts any pressure on the water until he is back on land. Running over water is already complicated. So the least I can do is run across a minefield. With enough speed, I could do it. I'm already quite underweight. If I dash over every mine and barely touch it I could maybe not trigger it. I have enough energy to make it to the end.

I breathe in and out deeply and run. It seems to be working. Every time I step on a mine, my heart stops for a few seconds. Because every step could be the moment when there will be an explosion. But fortunately I am spared this.

I dash across the ground. Todoroki and Kaccahn are in front of me. I don't even think about trying to catch up to them. I just run behind them.

How could I have expected them to knock each other over and cause a gigantic explosion? The explosion triggers other explosions. And now it's no longer running and trying not to trigger explosion. It's running and trying not to get caught by the explosions. They somehow follow me. With every step they are closer and closer. Even when I've got the mine behind me, I keep running.

I don't know what place I am now, I just want to get from the explosions away. They bring back bad memories for me. If only my mom were here. I hope she's okay.

Present Mic: Unexpectedly but for the first time, the first and only student that is quirkless in UA won the race first in the sport festival.

Me: What?

I was in a trance I didn't concentrate. I won?
