[TAEHYUNG]
•Jimin, Hoseok and Jin decided it was a good idea to crash my office. Jin's sprawled out on the couch, his legs propped up like it's his own personal lounge, while Hoseok and Jimin are bickering over which bottle of whiskey to crack open. I sigh and remind myself that I might as well step down from my position and serve these brats I call friends. We might have a certain level of professionalism in this place, but they leave as soon as the office hours end.
Now they are all here to give me the daily dosage of their input on my marriage. Ever since I tied the knot, my so-called friends seem to think my marriage life is their only source of entertainment.
"I've gotta hand it to her though," Jin says as he finally settles on his drink. "Y/n handled herself well today. No fireworks, no public disasters. I was expecting her to burn the entire building down just out of pure spite."
Hoseok chimes in, grinning, "Yeah, she didn't take any of your crap today either, Tae."
"Especially after he was being a dick the whole day." Jimin also adds. How would he know? He wasn't even at work today.
I shoot a glare at Hoseok, knowing full well he's the one who's been keeping Jimin in the loop. "I was being reasonable."
Jimin lets out a loud snort. "If you were reasonable, then I'm Beyoncé."
The trio erupts into laughter like it's the funniest joke they've ever heard. I glare at them, but it's wasted. Nothing ever seems to faze these idiots.
"On a serious note, why are you doing this to her? What's the end goal here?" Hoseok asks.
That's only for me to know. I don't intend to share that information ever. Not to them. Not to anyone.
These boys have been there for me since the day I met them at a university abroad. But there are a lot of things they don't know about me. And I would rather keep it that way.
Everyone has a monster hiding under their bed, I just choose to not call anyone to chase them away for me.
Jin takes a long sip from his glass, still eyeing me. "I never really understood why you two hate each other so much."
"Correction," Hoseok interjects. "I get why Y/n hates him—because he's a prick. But why does he hate her?"
I scoff, leaning back in my chair. "Have you ever had a conversation with that woman? Her tongue is pure venom."
''Like you tasted that venom.'' Hoseok smirks.
''At this rate, he never will.'' Jin snorts.
''Never say never.'' Jimin winks.
''Never.'' I announce, loud and clear.
''Sure.''
I also add, ''She's vicious.''
"Only when you're around," Jimin points out, grinning. "She's actually not that bad with us. Maybe it's you that triggers her."
"She'll turn on you too," I say, voice low and cutting. "Give her a few more days, and you'll all see what I mean. She's not made to love. She is made for hatred."
The room goes quiet. My friends exchange glances, the weight of my words settling in. Jin shakes his head slightly, his expression more serious than I'm used to.
"Well," Jin shrugs, breaking the silence. "You say that now. Just don't bite your tongue when things turn around in the future."
Hoseok nods, ''Saying she doesn't deserve love is a bit harsh.''
