Part 10 - Preparations

As Khushi was deep in thought, La and NK walked into the apartment. Their faces lit up with smiles as they saw Khushi. La was the first to speak, her excitement was palpable.

La: "I heard HR people talking Khushi, we heard the amazing news! Congratulations on your promotion! This is such a big deal!"

Khushi: "Thank you, La! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it."

NK clapped Khushi on the back.

NK: "We're really happy for you."

Khushi: "And also I will be moving out, they putting me up in a bigger space. I hope you guys won't mind!"

NK (chuckling): "Mind? We will be happy to have the space to ourselves."

La was happy for Khushi but she couldn't help and wonder about her own career, she wasn't moving ahead and that made her feel a pang of jealousy. Khushi sensed her concern and decided to lift their spirits.

Khushi: "Guys, actually I have something to ask you both. I want you to join me for the London fashion show."

La's eyes widened with joy.

La: "Are you serious? That's amazing, Khushi! Being part of the London show means so many more opportunities for us. I'm incredibly grateful."

NK: "This is fantastic news. And it's great that you're including us in such a significant event. Thanks a ton Khushi!"

Khushi: "Please don't embarrass me. Having you both there will make the experience even better and you both deserve it. I am feeling very sleepy though, so I will be calling it a night!"

NK: "Sure good night!" La turned to NK, her excitement palpable.

La: "Remember how you advised me to stay close to Khushi? It's incredible to see how true that was. Being in her circle is clearly opening doors for us."

NK: "Yes, staying close to Khushi has proven to be a smart move. She's becoming a powerful figure in the fashion world, and aligning ourselves with her is definitely a step in the right direction."

La: "Thanks baby, I never thought about all this and I remember how you pushed me to encourage Khushi's relationship with Arnav. It's working out exactly as you said it would. Khushi's closeness with him is making a huge difference."

NK: "It will open even bigger doors for her. Have you never noticed Arnav and his puppy dog expressions around Khushi. I knew back then only, we had to exploit this. This is the fashion industry we cannot always stay relevant. Khushi being with Arnav will keep us all safe and afloat."

La: "Hmm you are right"

NK: "Now that she is moving out and got us into the London fashion show don't become complacent. We still have to be in her good books and close to her."

La raised her glass in a toast. "To new beginnings, exciting opportunities, and to US!"

NK: "To Us!"

La reflected on how valuable Khushi's friendship and influence had become. She understood that to move ahead in their careers, it was essential to stay connected with Khushi and support her as she rose through the ranks of the fashion elite. Along with NK, she also decided to throw a going away party for Khushi over the weekend to make her happy. The next night, Khushi walked into Arnav's penthouse with a sense of excitement. She had been waiting for this moment to celebrate her promotion.

Arnav: "Ready to celebrate, Miss Gupta?" Arnav's voice was smooth, with a hint of mischief.

Khushi: "Absolutely, Mr. Raizada."
