Bank

As he handed over the piece of paper to the watchful Killer Jay knew the nams' response would indicate whether or not the Hostages had a chance of survival.   It was a calculated risk on his part but the Detective knew he needed to expedite a departure before the early morning skies yielded to the dawn of a new day and had simply noted that in his message.  Making a getaway in broad daylight would be highly unlikely and he wanted Billings to know he was on his side in trying to escape.  Whatever his faults the man was intelligent and as such would know the cover of darkness would provide his best chance of getting away unapprehended.  Of course Jays' ploy was hinged on his instinct that the man did indeed intend to get out of the current situation.  The gnawing knowledge of the bomb and his inability to locate the  detonator spurred his desire to vacate the building.  The sooner Billings was out of the picture the sooner the Hostages could be extracted and the Bomb Squad could do its' job.

That the detonator had not been sourced left one glaring possibility that the young Detective had to consider.  The bomb might be triggered by cell.  If that was the case Billings could blow the place as soon as he was far enough away.  Jay needed to ensure that did not happen so he had to find a way to disengage the older man from his cell phone before they left.  That was not going to be an easy feat for the item was either held 8n his hand or close by the whole time.

As Will watched his brother pass their Captor a note he frowned.  Whatever was going on he sensed it was nothing he would like.   The older mans' reaction upon reading the obviously brief message was a stern glare directed at the Detective followed by an apparently reluctant nod.  Now what were the pair after agreeing to?  The skies outside still had not begun to lighten so the redhead could only make out silhouettes of law enforcement personnel through the glass entrance doors.  The two vans which he guessed comprised the Command Post had a group in front of them so he assumed Voight and the others were there.  There did not seem to be any activity which signalled action so he had to assume the Cops were playing a waiting game, as they had been doing since the onset of the bank siege.  That still rankled him.  It had not been lost on him that no ransom demand had been made.  Admittedly, as he had chided himself previously, what Will knew about bank sieges  was founded on movies but it seemed strange no requests had been made at all.  He had wondered about the anomaly earlier but now it became even more pressing as Jay seemed to be up to something.

Conor was also at a loss trying to understand the Detectives' actions and unknowingly came to the same conclusion as Will.  He wondered why Jay passed a note over rather than speaking.  Although this was not the first time a note had been handed over the fact Jay was instigating a silent exchange this time meant the auburn haired man was up to something.  Realizing answers were not going to be forthcoming any time soon he sighed.  As a Surgeon he thrived on knowing every detail of a case so he could navigate a surgery properly and ensure a successful outcome as much as possible.  Being bereft of any information in the current situation was proving very frustrating and he was becoming well acquainted with feeling helpless.  Glancing at the clock across the way he noted it was five after two.  The siege had been going on for hours but it felt much more time had passed.

Command Post

As the minutes ticked by Voight and the others knew their friend had to put a plan into action soon for they knew darkness provided the safest option when seeking to escape.  Murphy had already suggested that although they needed Billings away from the bank as soon as possible they should make it somewhat difficult so the Killer believed he was doing something the Cops did not expect him to.  Like Jay the location of the detonator was a priority for the law enforcement personnel and Mouse had just arrived after being summoned by Kevin from his station before the monitors to provide some insight into what they might be dealing with.
