His Unforeseen Claim (fourthgemini)

Chap 32

Fourth’s wheelchair was being wheeled towards the maternity ward. Force held the wheelchair from the back and pushed it.

"The doctor allowed you to see Gemini, but make sure not to wear yourself out because you are still weak," Force said firmly.

"Okay, Phi... I just... want to see him once. I want to be there for him at least once," Fourth replied.

They reached the maternity ward, and Force stepped forward to open the door. Fourth’s heart was beating rapidly in his chest. As the door opened, his eyes landed on Gemini’s unconscious figure lying on the bed. Force pushed the wheelchair beside Gemini’s bed.

Fourth reached out to take Gemini’s hand in his. "Gem.... I am here..." His voice trembled, and tears threatened to spill from his eyes.

His gaze went to the nearby crib where a small baby was placed. Force approached the crib and carefully picked up the baby boy in his arms.

He walked back to Fourth. "Here... your little baby boy." Force placed the baby into Fourth's arms.

Fourth looked at the most beautiful and cutest thing in his life. Tears fell from his eyes. The baby was small and fragile, with tiny hands and feet. Force stepped out of the room to give them privacy.

He stroked the baby’s cheek gently. "Welcome... my little boy." Fourth smiled, although tears continued to flow from his eyes. "Dad is here... and he will never leave you and your papa alone. Dad is sorry... he missed 8 months of your growth. Dad is so sorry, baby... that he left your papa all alone during these months."

Fourth placed a soft kiss on the baby’s forehead. He looked at Gemini.

“Gem…” Fourth’s voice cracked as he looked at the love of his life, lying so still. "I'm here. I’m sorry... I should’ve woken up sooner. Please... please come back to me."

He reached out and held Gemini’s hand almost tightly. "Look, Gem... our son. He’s beautiful, just like you."

Fourth leaned closer, placing a soft kiss on Gemini’s forehead. "You need to wake up... for me, for him. We need you."

And as if his words held some kind of magic, Gemini’s fingers twitched. Fourth gasped, looking down at their intertwined hands.

“Gemini?” he whispered.

Slowly, Gemini’s eyes fluttered open. He blinked up at the ceiling, disoriented and weak, but when his gaze finally met Fourth’s, he let out a shaky breath.

"You... keep showing up in my dreams... why don't you just wake up... and come to me?" Gemini's voice was raspy and weak.

Fourth smiled. "It's me... I am your Fourth... it's not a dream."

"Fourth?" Gemini said with disbelief in his voice. "You're... you're awake."

Fourth smiled through his tears, nodding as he squeezed Gemini’s hand. "I’m here, Gem, and so is our son."

Gemini's eyes filled with tears as they shifted toward the tiny figure in Fourth’s arms. A sob broke from his chest as he looked back at Fourth. "We did it... he’s here… and so are you."

"Yes... we did it," Fourth whispered and looked at the baby in his arms.

The door opened and Force entered. "Fourth, you need to rest; it's—" Force stopped as soon as he saw Gemini’s eyes open.

He quickly rushed towards his side. "Oh God, Gemini, you are awake? Thank God."

Gemini smiled weakly at Force, to which Force let out a breath of relief. He smiled back at Gemini.

He walked towards Fourth. "Fourth, it's time for you to go back... you need rest; you just woke up from a coma and Gemini needs rest too."

Fourth looked at Force with pleading eyes. "Phi... just 5 more minutes."

"No," Force said strictly.

Gemini squeezed Fourth’s hand. "P'Force is right, Fourth. You need rest."

Fourth sighed. "Alright..." He placed a small kiss on the baby’s head before handing him back to Force. Force put the baby carefully in the crib.

"I can't wait to see you again." Fourth brought Gemini’s hand to his lips and placed a kiss on his knuckles.

"Me too... take care, Fourth," Gemini smiled.

"You too... Gem... I love you," Fourth smiled back.

"I love you too."

Force pushed Fourth’s wheelchair out of the maternity ward and took Fourth back to his room. He and the nurse helped Fourth to lie down on the bed again.

Force took a seat on the stool beside Fourth’s bed. He let out a sigh of relief. "Finally, everything is back on track again," he smiled.

"Phi... thank you so much," Fourth said.

Force looked at him, confused. "Why are you saying thanks to me?"

"Thank you for taking care of Gemini and me for all these months. I really don't know how to thank you. You have done so much for me. At first, when Mom died, you took care of me, and then you became my personal assistant and helped me take the company to greater heights."

"You protected me from my father all the time, and now too... you took care of Gemini and our baby..."

Force smiled and reached out to pat Fourth’s hand. "No need to thank me, Fourth. I just did what a big brother would do for his younger brother."

"And I wasn’t the only one who took care of Gemini... Book, Pond, and Phuwin helped too. Now, be healthy soon... you have a little baby to take care of... remember, you are a father now...."

"Now you will know what I go through to take care of my little devil, Nick," Force chuckled.

Fourth let out a laugh. "Right... Nick... how's he doing?"

"Oh... don't even ask... when I told him his pretty uncle bought a baby boy into the world... he got so excited... now he's whining that he wants to see the baby."

Fourth smiled. "Really?"

"Yes... and he misses you a lot. He used to come here with Gemini to see you. Do you see that jar full of paper chits?" Force pointed at the glass jar on the side table, which had colorful paper chits in it.

Fourth looked at the jar and nodded. "What about it, Phi?"

"Nick put that there. He said if we write our best wishes on a piece of paper and put them in this jar, you will receive positive energy and will wake up soon. So everyone wrote their wishes in that jar."

At first, when Fourth's mother died, he thought he would have no one, but he was wrong. Time heals everything. Now look at him. He has Gemini, Force, Book, Nick, Pond, and Phuwin. He has everyone by his side. He smiled. And now he even has a child to protect.

"For now, rest. You have to get well soon, right?" Force patted Fourth’s head.

Fourth nodded and closed his eyes, relaxing in the bed. He couldn’t wait to see Gemini again; he missed him so much, and even the baby. He didn't have any experience of being a dad, but he could do it with Gemini by his side. He had nothing to worry about when he had all these people loving and caring for him. Slowly, he drifted off to sleep.
