Chapter 55: Resolution

Allison Hilary Blair POV

The sterile smell of antiseptic filled the air, mingling with the soft beeping of machines that monitored my vitals.

I can remember everything that happened before I passed out.

Nakatayo siya sa tabi ng bintana, he stood there as the rays of the morning envelopes his body. ang kanyang ekspresyon ay halo ng pagkapagod at determinasyon. Nakaramdam ako ng pasasalamat sa kanya—He kept his promise this time to protect everyone.

There are still things thats left to be said between the two of us.

“Tulad nung nahulog ka sa bubong while trying to catch my kite? So you can make me stop crying?"

Agad akong napatawa sa sinabi nya, it's one of the memories na nawala saakin noong bata pa ako, We both laughed and stared at each other. Pero muling bumalik ang bigat sa paligid when I saw the tenderness in his eyes, and I know what it means.

He looked at me and smiled bitterly "I know Allison, Pero I think I'm stupid enough to ask if, what's still yet to be done?" Wika nya at bahagyang natawa.

“The Underground is in chaos, and my organization—my family’s legacy—needs to be rebuilt,” I explained, feeling the weight of my bloodline pressing down on me. “I have to go back to Spain. I need to fix things.”

“Allison—" He hesitated, running a hand through his hair, frustration evident in his posture. “You can’t just leave now. You just got hurt, and we finally have a chance to be—”

“I have to do this,” I interrupted, my voice firm yet pleading. “It’s my responsibility. The Empire and the Underground—they need stability, and I can’t just walk away from it. Not after everything that happened.”

Nag-iwas siya ng tingin, his jaw tightening as he processed my words. “And what about us? What are we supposed to do?”

I reached for his hand, intertwining my fingers with his, feeling the warmth and strength that had always grounded me. “I need you to wait for me, Ace. I don’t know how long it will take, but I promise I’ll come back. We’ll figure everything out together.”

He sighed, his gaze searching mine for assurance. “You’re asking a lot, Allison. What if things change while you’re gone? What if I’m not here when you get back?”

I shook my head, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. “You have to trust me. I’m not going to let this destroy us. We’ve fought too hard to let it end here.”

"I trust you Ace, and I know you're not someone who's gonna leave me here alone, I'm sorry for asking na hintayin mo Ulit ako after everything na nangyari saatin" marahang dagdag ko pa.

Finally, a slow smile crept across his face, one filled with warmth and acceptance. “You really think I can just wait around for you? You’ll probably be off ruling the Underground while I’m stuck here.”

I laughed softly, the tension easing. “Maybe I’ll just be in over my head trying to fix all the messes I’ll find.”

“Then I’ll be right here, waiting for you to come back and tell me about all your adventures,” he replied, squeezing my hand gently. “But you better come back, or I’m coming after you.”

I nodded, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. “I promise, Ace. I’ll come back, and we’ll take this together.”

As we sat in the quiet of the hospital room, hand in hand, I felt the remnants of our struggle begin to fade. The future was uncertain, but with Ace by my side—even if it was from afar—I knew we could face whatever lay ahead. Together.
