A MOTHERS LOVE.
————————————————-JANUARY 17 2001.
NEW YORK.
Tuesday
11:00 am."Don't cry child. You must learn to have faith in the lord..darling..we should always pray when we're down.. because the lord will always be there for you always. don't cry I'm here for you too. It's going to be okay." Grace held her daughter in her arms wiping away the young girls tears. Comforting Rose who had been bleeding on her knees.
"It hurts! Ouch!"
"Come hun let's get it all fixed for you." She cleaned out her daughter's wound on the bed and soaked her legs in warm water before bandaging it up. "See? It'll all be better soon. I promise you. Those kids will not get away with this. I'll speak to their parents. Come here baby." Grace held her daughter tightly Her eyes welled up in tears while her child was buried in her chest crying.
EARLIER THAT DAY.
The kids were playing on the playground running around chasing one another. Rose felt a bit left out and looked at her mother. "I'll be right back sweetie. If you want to play why don't you go ask?" Grace then lets her daughter run off to play. She made her way to the grocery store close by.
Meanwhile Rose walked towards the other children nervously. "Can I play with you guys?"
They looked at her and laughed. One of the girls smirked at her. "Your so ugly! We don't want to play." One by one they start pushing her. One of the girls took it too far and pushed Rose on the floor roughly.
Rose cried scraping her knees and looked at them. She wondered where her mother was.
When Grace finally came back the children ran away from Rose and She noticed her daughter on the floor crying. She picked her up. "What happened? You're bleeding oh my goodness..where's the other children?"
"They bullied and pushed me around..and called me ugly.." she told her mother.
Grace sighed and picked up Rose taking her home.
PRESENT DAY.
That night Grace prayed to God. She wanted to find the parents of the children that did this to her little girl. She wouldn't let them just get away with it. The next day she went back to the park to see the parents there with the kids from the day before.
She walked up to them with her child in hand. "Nice to meet you guys I'm Grace just moved in recently with my daughter Rose..she came yesterday to the playground I was only gone for a bit..and she ended up with a bleeding knee when I was back because she told me your children had been bullying her when she only wanted to play with them.."
"Are you crazy? Our children would never do something like that. She must be lying!"
"Look at her knees..those are fresh cuts from yesterday. That should be enough proof for you. My daughter is here you can ask her yourself. Tell them honey."
The child scared to speak hides behind her mother. "It's okay. God is with us..just be truthful. Tell them everything."
The mothers mock them and laugh quietly with themselves.
Grace notices right away. "Why are you laughing?" She asks.
"You are so deluded for a mother..listen lady putting all your faith in a god won't help you."
"He is real!" Rose shouts. "Don't speak to my mom that way! They bullied me and called me ugly. I only wanted to play! They should say sorry.."
The adults looked over at the kid surprised. "My Julie really did this?"
"Rose only wanted to play with them..and they bullied her!"
"Julie come now." Her mother called out.
Julie came over.
"Yes mommy?"
"You pushed this girl?" Julie started crying and apologizing scared she'd be in trouble.
"I'm sorry!" She exclaimed to Rose.
The other kids also had apologized to Rose as well.
"..how can you do such a thing? I did not raise you like this! I'm so disappointed in you." Loren looked at her child and sighed. She then looked up at Grace.
"I'm sorry about everything..is there a way I could repay you?" The lady looked at Grace.
"No thank you." Grace held her daughter's hand and walked out of the park. "Always stick up for yourself & always trust in God. He had our backs earlier..and see how we got justice? Never let anyone belittle you."
"Yes mom."
Grace smiled. "Good girl. Are you hungry? How about I treat you to a nice meal? You must be starving."
"A little.."
"Let's go then!"
Grace took her daughter to eat. She made sure that rose got to eat her favorite meal. It didn't matter what she ate as long as she was right beside her daughter.
"Honey..you know I love you right?"
"Yes mommy! I love you too!"
"Always know that I am here for you."
Rose just nodded while eating her food.
Grace admired her daughter one last time.
