Billie POV
"Billie, where are you going?" Essence stir awake as I tried to sneak out of the bed

We just went for like 2 hours, I know she is beyond tired. My mom is asleep in her room along with my sisters. I tried to be sneaky but Essence is a light sleeper.

"I'ma be back ma, just go back to bed." I told her

"What are you taking your gun for?" She asked as I stuffed the firearm into my waistband

"Quit asking questions youn want the answer to." I told her

"No, Billie. Don't go out there and get yourself killed." She shot out of bed when I headed for the door

"Man chill out. Ain't nobody gone get killed... At least not on my side." I mumbled the last part

"You're making a huge mistake. Just stay home." She told me

"Mamas, I'll be back in like an hour. You're finna wake up my momma and shit." I attempted to call her down

"You know what? Fine. What am I tryna stop you for? When something bad happens, I ain't answering the phone. You better hope Muwop, Chase or Kenny can help you because Essence is out." She ranted before leaving out

"Bitch is always tripping." I muttered before leaving too

Later that day
"That's him right there cuz." KennyBoy whispered to me as we walked past the gang of bloods

"Pass me the gun." I whispered to him

He passed me the gun along with a ski mask then I circled around the building

Everyone else masked up then we began blowing at the rivals, they threw shots back but none of them hit us.

"Aw fuck." Boona fell to the ground

I continued to shoot until we heard sirens in the distance

"Get in the car cuz!" Muwop yelled

We sprinted to the vehicle, each shutting out doors as police pulled up—KennyBoy mashed his foot on the gas, going at a wind blistering speed as we tried to get away.

"Pull the car over now!" A officer voiced over the intercom

"Go, go, go!" We panicked as the police got closer to the car

"This the fastest the shit goes my nigga." KennyBoy replied

We almost got away until the car crashed into a pole

"Damn it, Kenny!" Groaned as we flipped over

"Everyone get out of the car now!" An officer approached the car with his gun pointed

"Fuck bruh." I cursed under my breath

We all slowly got out of the car, putting our heads above my head before an officer put me in cuffs

"“You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you?" Miranda rights were read to us

"Man, fuck you." I mumbled as the handcuffs tightened around my wrist

"I hate fucking delinquents like you." He mumbled

Essence POV
I shook my head as Billie's prison sentence was read to her.

7 fucking years! This dumb ass just got 7 years because she wanna slide for her friend. I swear she's the most dumbest motherfucker I've ever met.. well no, she might be somewhat smart.

Originally they tried to give her and her friends 31 to life but they conjured up a fable that Boona and his friends shot at them first then they shot back. They're lucky they were in the bodega and there weren't any cameras. Since they're the only witnesses and the crime scene somewhat aligned with their story (though I know it's not true) they only received 3, 4, 7 and 10 years. 7-Oh got the most because he's the oldest and he pushed a cop down while he was being arrested.

Muwop got the least because he doesn't have a criminal record and he shot last. Billie got 7 because though her story made sense, they didn't really fall for the "self defense" bullshit. Part of it is because she appeared in multiple music videos doing ghetto shit

I told her to leave that shit alone but she hates to listen to her girlfriend—well, ex-girlfriend now. I'm down with her stupid ass. I ain't even finna tell her about our baby we have on the way.

She cut completely off after today.

She looked over at me causing me to leave. She wouldn't be going to prison/juvie if she listened like I told her. I get she was grieving about Kobe, but just fucking cry. I hate that "get back" mindset that the hood endorses. It's stupid at the end of the day.
