As Minho's car sped toward the Black Roses' headquarters, his thoughts drifted back to Jisung. His little bird. The younger boy had a way of getting under his skin like no one else ever had. It wasn't just the innocence, or the ways he looked up at Minho with those wide, adorable boba eyes—it was something deeper. Something primal. The way Jisung made him feel weak. Vulnerable. Obsessed.
He hated that weakness. Minho, the Black Rose, feared nothing and no one, The one who swore to never express his emotions again. Yet here he was, unable to stop thinking about the boy lying in that cold cell. He was supposed to be strong. Unbreakable. But when it came to Jisung, he'd do anything to protect him, even if it meant manipulating him into his world, binding him forever. He could lie to his heart but his eyes would never lie.
The car came to a stop outside the grand, massive estate that housed the Black Roses' headquarters. Towering gates opened automatically, letting the convoy through. As Minho stepped out, flanked by his bodyguards, the weight of his power settled around him once again. His façade of cold dominance snapped back into place. He couldn't let anyone see how much Jisung affected him, Jisung is his strength.. And his weakness.
He made his way through the pristine marble halls, where hundreds of guards were stationed. This particular headquarters was the jewel among their 12,000 worldwide—meticulous, clean, and secure. It was where all major decisions were made. Where the fate of mafias across the globe was decided.
As he entered the meeting room, the White Roses were already seated, awaiting his arrival.
Felix, the youngest, lounged casually in his seat. His face was unreadable, but Minho knew him too well. Beneath that calm exterior was a boy who lived for the thrill of the hunt, the leader of the assassin team, and one of the deadliest killers in their ranks.
Next to Felix sat Jeongin, Minho's younger brother. He was the ace, the one being trained to replace Minho if anything ever happened to him. Jeongin was sharp, calculating, and ruthless when necessary. Yet, Minho noticed how his eyes softened slightly whenever they landed on Felix. He's still trying to hide it.
Jeongin and Felix had a silent understanding. Though they hadn't spoken of it, their connection was clear to Minho. Jeongin was madly in love with Felix, and Felix, though a master at concealing his emotions, shared those feelings. But they hadn't allowed themselves to go deeper. Not yet. None of them was ready to admit it.
Changbin sat at the far end of the table, his muscular frame tense, ready for action. He was the weapons specialist, in charge of controlling the smaller gangs across the globe. If there was an uprising or threat, Changbin was the one who handled it. His entire network revolved around keeping the Black Roses' enemies in check, making sure they never became a real threat.
Seungmin sat calmly with a tablet in his hand, head of the hacking team and the mastermind behind the finances of the Black Roses. Nothing happened in the world of tech or money without Seungmin knowing. His neutral, unbothered demeanor made him seem detached, but everyone in the room knew that Seungmin's mind worked faster than anyone's.
Bangchan stood by the window, his presence more commanding than any words could convey. As Minho's elder brother, he took care of the major operations—the world's drug trade, human trafficking rings, prostitution clubs, and weapons trafficking. Bangchan kept the global mafias in line and was the logistical backbone of their empire. Even if Minho was the face of the Black Roses, Bangchan made sure everything behind the scenes ran smoothly. His older brother had a soft heart beneath that hard exterior, but for the sake of the organization, he had learned to act cold and ruthless.
And then, there was Hyunjin. Minho's right hand. His closest confidant. Hyunjin was sassy, unpredictable, and loyal to a fault. Hyunjins beauty earnt him the title of "The prince of the underworld". But after the incident with Jisung, Minho's anger toward him was barely contained.
"Hyung," Hyunjin greeted Minho, his usual smirk nowhere in sight. Everyone in the room could feel the tension between them, though no one dared speak of it.
Minho took his seat at the head of the table, folding his hands in front of him. "Let's get started."
Seungmin was the first to speak, tapping his screen. "Financially, we're stable. Our profits from the trafficking rings are up 15%, and no one's breached our systems in over a year. Everything is smooth on the tech front."
Changbin nodded. "The smaller gangs are under control. A few minor uprisings, but they've been dealt with. No threats on the horizon."
Bangchan, arms crossed, spoke next. "The drug trade is booming in Southeast Asia, but we need to keep a close eye on a few new players. Prostitution rings are stable. Weapons supply is steady."
"Good," Minho acknowledged each report, his mind half-distracted. His gaze flicked toward Hyunjin, daring him to speak.
Hyunjin cleared his throat, finally breaking the silence. "Our assassins are ready for any hits you order, hyung. No issues from my end."
Minho's stare hardened. "No issues?" he repeated, his tone icy. "Are you sure about that?"
Hyunjin swallowed, but said nothing. He knew this wasn't the time for his usual sass.
Minho let the tension hang for a moment before speaking again. "There's one more thing.. An announcement" His voice cut through the room like a blade. "I've chosen...My red rose"
Everyone sat up a little straighter, eyes focused solely on Minho now.
"Who?" Felix asked, the curiosity in his voice barely contained.
"Jisung," Minho said, watching as the others exchanged surprised glances.
"Isn't he just—" Seungmin began.
"I know what he seems like, He's weak, but he's mine. " Minho interrupted, his tone firm. "He will be the future Red Rose, He will be mine, my lover."
No one dared question Minho's decision further. If he said Jisung would be the Red Rose, then it was done. He was the leader, after all.
Minho stood up, the meeting clearly over. "That's all for now."
Without another word, he walked out of the room, his bodyguards falling into formation around him as he left the building. Outside, his car awaited, with one vehicle full of guards ahead and another behind for safety. He slid into the back seat, his thoughts once again consumed by Jisung.
Soon, he thought. Soon, you'll be mine completely.
