Anna's Point of View

I walked out of the staff room after helping my class teacher with her stuff. The period of my class had finished so I decided to roam around the corridors and headed to the restroom to fix my hair and make up. I observed as the students walked out of the class in such a hurry. Apparently, one of them accidentally bumped into my shoulder without apologizing. I glared at the guy as he zig zagged through the crowd and pushed everyone aside. "Rude," I muttered under my breath and casually made my way to the end of the corridor. I stopped in front of the woman's restroom and slowly opened the door, which let out a croaky noise from the rusted hinges. I peeped my head through the gap and scanned the room. The stalls were all empty and facing the front door. The place had a nice smell of lavender and fresh lemon and the floors were squeaky clean. "Perfect!" I whispered as I walked inside. I liked it when the restroom was empty. I didn't have to wait or squeeze myself in a room full of sweat, nasty perfumes, some wild chattering and gossiping. The reason why I always hated these types of people because they weren't taught to have good manners in public. For example, blocking the sink and mirror when someone wanted to wash their hands or judging people from head to toe. If I saw this, I would leave immediately. Back to the story, after some business, I headed to the sink and washed my hands thoroughly. Then, I took out a tiny travel bag from the pocket of my flannels. I unzipped the bag and searched for my butter cocoa lip balm. All of a sudden, the lights on the ceiling started flickering. I stopped my actions and looked up. The fluorescent light turned red every time it flickered. "Huh, must be broken or something." I whispered and applied the lip balm on my lips. After that, I took off my hair ties from my braids and ran my fingers through my hair. My eyes were glued to my own reflection in the mirror and I didn't notice a human figure standing a few feet away from me. I turned around to look at the person. To my surprise, nothing was there.

"Huh," I looked away, thinking it was just my imagination. The tension in the room became stronger and I could feel the hairs on my body stood up. My heart started pounding for no reason and my breath became shaky and cold. Not just that, my stomach began twisting on the inside which made me feel nauseous instantly. I'd never felt this way in my life and I didn't know what was the cause of it. As I tied my hair into a half ponytail, my eyes kept darting to the corner space of the room. I didn't trust my instincts at first but when I did, there was a shadow -- a silhouette of a person, barely moving from its spot. The longer I stared, the more visible it had become. The shadow had now grown into a full size, slowly filling the room with what looked like a grey dust. A ray of red light surrounded the whole place and the shadow slowly revealed its massive long nails as it went upwards. I couldn't move a muscle and my voice was stuck in my throat. The only thing that I could think of at the moment was overcoming my fear of being attacked by a supernatural being. It was alive, growling like a wild animal that starved for a few days. I watched in horror as the shadow slowly twitched and cracked its invisible bones to form a distorted figure that I couldn't describe. I gasped and screamed on top of my lungs, spinning around like a lunatic. What the heck was that? I yelled in my thought as I caught my breath. When the vision of my eyes became steady and clear, I frantically scanned every corner and made sure no one sneaked into the stalls while I wasn't looking.

There was no one in the restroom except me, which made it impossible to believe. The whole room began to feel uncomfortable and paranoia started consuming my mind. I calmed myself down by inhaling a huge amount of air and exhaling loudly. "Get it together, Anna. That was just your imagination." I repeated the sentences multiple times until I finally got my senses back. My entire body was trembling, including the sharp pain in my left abdomen. I finished everything I had started and shoved my stuff in my travel bag. Just as I was about to leave, I heard a whooshing sound from behind. I groaned and turned around in anger. "Look whoever you are, just show yourself!" I yelled, hoping it showed up somewhere. Still, nothing was there. I sighed heavily and rubbed my eyes. Whatever that was, it could be a shadow of some objects in there that I hadn't seen. It's ridiculous to say that I just experienced a paranormal activity. Nobody would believe it and even I, myself, didn't believe anything that had just occurred. I slammed the door open and strutted through the corridors.
