chapter twenty

(-I thought everything
would be alright)

YUJIN

I just got out of my uncle's office after having a conversation with him about Minji and Hanni regarding their own businesses. It seems that the two were really stubborn when it comes to schedules and such. They wouldn't rest. But then I appreciate their hard work.

Upon walking the company's silent hallways, I suddenly thought of inviting them over to lunch. Just thinking about it makes me smile. Though I kinda want to eat with Hanni by herself-

"Let's invite the two" I mumbled, erasing the thought that I just had.

When I reached Minji's studio I was shocked when Hanni came out sobbing. Her puffy red swollen eyes worries me but I knew I couldn't say anything at that moment. She couldn't even give me a glance. My hands wanted to comfort her. To give her back a pat or to crease her hair but she just left without talking to me or saying anything.

I furrowed my eyebrows and think of all the things that could've possibly happen and one thing only comes to mind.

Minji.

I enters the room without any hesitation and was welcomed by a teary eyed girl. It was odd. It was really confusing that Minji and Hanni was crying. At the same time.

I sighed and massaged my head realizing that what I was planning earlier was going to be put on hold.

I was standing there, very still. Waiting for her to atleast say something. For the sake of me not looking like a fool. Minji then run her fingers through her hair to probably calm herself down though her nose was quite runny already.

"I messed up Yujin." Minji said through her silent cries.

"What happened Minji? I know you both aren't fine." Yujin quietly asked, revealing that she saw Hanni's state earlier.

"I'm sorry Yujin." Minji apologized weakly, her lips trembling causing me to take a step forward.

"I'm really sorry." She repeats, covering her own face with her bare hands that were also shaking because of the situation and the cold inside the room.

"Minji..." I mumbled, calling her name out and walked towards her to give her a pat on the back. It was just a pat but then I started caressing her back when Minji just rest her head onto my shoulders.

She was crying again. While hugging me.

I wanted her to speak. To explain and knowing what she had to say made me regret my decision to even listen to her.

"I'm sorry. I hurt Hanni."

HANNI

Idiot.

You're such an idiot Hanni.

Why did it took me so long to realize it was her all along!? This is so frustrating. I'm so distressed. I ended up looking like a fool in front of her. My eyes couldn't stop swelling as I kept on crying. I wanted to stop but whatever I was feeling, I had no control over it.

Which I wish I had.

Until the moment I reached home, I was still tearing.
