After moving into a new home, a young couple, Emma and Mark, begins to hear strange rattling noises coming from the walls at night. Initially dismissing it as settling sounds, they soon realize the rattling grows louder, accompanied by whispers that echo through the halls.
Determined to uncover the source, Mark decides to investigate. He finds an old, hidden door behind a bookshelf, leading to a cramped, dark space between the walls. Inside, he discovers a collection of children's toys and an old diary filled with the writings of a girl who once lived in the house.
The last entry reveals that the girl was locked in this space by her parents as punishment, and her spirit has been trapped ever since. As Mark reads the final line, "I just want to play," the rattling escalates, and Emma screams as ghostly hands reach through the walls, pulling her toward the hidden door.
Mark tries to save her, but as he pulls her back, he realizes he is the one being dragged into the darkness, leaving Emma alone to face the restless spirit.
