Chapter 3: A Lazy Man's Guide to Survival

Song: Hall of fame

You could be the greatest, you can be the best.

Louis's POV:

In the following days, we started our daily endurance tests. What a drag!!!

I'm good at these tests, but honestly, I'm too lazy to really show it. I could push myself harder, but the idea of doing that feels more tiring than doing it.

First, we had to run at 20 km/h. I settled into a steady pace and glanced around at my teammates. They were all pushing themselves, some wincing as their legs struggled to keep up. I had been running for half an hour, and while my legs were starting to feel heavy, I knew I could go longer but let me just rest!!!

Next up was the jumping test. I cleared a height of 67 cm (about 2.2 feet). Kuon did a lit better than me and Isagi was little lower. It's good to always remember I'm not the best at all.

After the jumping test, it was time for our meals. We got different meals based on our ranks, and as I took a seat near Isagi, I thought at least my food looked edible.

Then it was time to rest. We had to sleep on the floor in the same room, and I really missed my dearly beloved bed. (┬┬﹏┬┬)

The boy laying next to me stirred, looking more nervous than usual.

"You alright, Isagi?" I whispered, trying not to disturb anyone else.

"Oh, Louis, sorry if I woke you," he replied, rubbing his eyes.

"I wasn't asleep. It's pretty uncomfortable here." but I've gotta use to it.

"I see," he said as he slowly stood up, stretching his legs.

"Are you planning to train now" I asked, his eyes widened a little.

"H-how did you know?" he stammered, caught off guard.

"I just guessed. If I'm right, you're probably the weakest in all of Blue Lock, and need to try harder than others to survive." Was that too rude? I hoped it wasn't.

"A-a... hahaha," he laughed awkwardly, clearly unsure how to respond.

"I'll join you." oh my gosh, is that really me who said that shit, I guess I got poisoned by food or the bed sheets got some spell with it...

"N-no need," he protested.

"I can't sleep anyway," I insisted, standing up as we both walked out of the room. My eyes squinted against the bright light as we exited.

As we walked through the corridor, a ball suddenly flew toward us. I dodged it, but Isagi wasn't as lucky.

"You guys want to train? Count me in!" called a voice. It was Bachira, striding confidently toward us.

"Bachira?"

"Monster dude?" I muttered under my breath.

"Oh, by the way, Louis, can you see it too?" he asked, looking at me with excitement. 'it',does he mean the monster?

"No, but I know someone who can and I've learned to feel it by playing with him" I replied simply.

"Whoa, nice to know I'm not the only one," he grinned.
