Chapter 21

Third POV

"Annie, we're leaving. Now." Said the older nurse as she stormed in. She then walked back out. Annie gave an almost disappointed sigh. "Maybe next time. A shame. You smell...interesting." Annie said after sniffing the small hole in his arm.

"Politely, I already have a blonde girlfriend, unhand me." Ethan said with a clearly uncomfortable smile on his face. Annie laughed and patted his cheek. "You're adorable." She gushed and left the room.

As she did, Sarah walked in although hesitantly.

"Sarah! We've got a problem. Those nurses are vampires. I just had a vision." Ethan rushed out as he got up from the medical bed, holding a piece of gauze to his arm. "What's that smell?" Sarah asked, ignoring everything he just said. "It smells amazing." Then she realized the gauze and snatched it. "Is that your blood? It smells...good. Like, really, really good." She said distractedly. Until Ethan plucked the bloody gauze from her hand. "Thank you." He said awkwardly.

"Here, have a cookie." He said, handing her one of the small treats. "Actually, take two." He gave her another before rushing out. Sarah paused and started picking up as many cookies as she could when Ethan came back to grab her arm so she jut grabbed the whole tray.

Outside, the truck was pulling away just as Benny ran up.

"Come on! I ran for nothing!?" He complained. "Benny!" Ethan called as he ran up with Sarah, who now only had two fisft-fulls of cookies, in tow. "Ethan! You hung up on me!" Benny complained childishly. "Later, right now we have vampire nurses to deal with." Sarah said, her voice muffled by a cookie or something.

"Vampire nurses? OK, that's worth for." He said and pulled out his phone. "What happened to the tray? Didn't you grab the whole tray of cookies?" Ethan asked. Sarah stared at him and burped. A sound that he could swear had a weird metallic sound to it. Like when you quickly shake a thin sheet of metal. "Don't question me." She huffed.

Ethan took a few steps away from her.

"Yeah, Rory's on the move and fast. Think he's flying after the truck?" Benny asked. "No, I think he's on the truck. Probably with Olivia and Erica." Ethan said. "I thought she agreed not to go after the truck?" Benny asked, causing Ethan to wave his hand dismissively. "It's Erica. She doesn't listen unless I withhold cuddles." He said. "We need to get our equipment and go after them."

The other two nodded and they all ran off to Ethan's house.

On the blood truck, Rory and and Olivia are trying to break the doors open while Erica is sitting down with her arms crossed and a frown on her face.

"How is this door so damn strong!" Olivia growled and shoulder checked the door, only to inhale sharply as pain shot through her arm. "Hey, a little help!" She yelled at her blonde friend. "Don't worry. Ethan's coming for me and he'll bring Sarah and the dork with him." She said. "What? How would Ethan even know we planned on... you told him didn't you?" Erica nodded.

"Ya know what. Normally, I'd be mad. I'll let it slide this time though since it's gonna save our asses." Liv said and sat down next to Eric's while Rory sat across from them. He clapped his hands slowly and whistled awkwardly before smiling widely.

"Hey..!"

"No." Both girls intoned immediately. "Aww. You're no fun." He whined and pouted.

At the Morgan house, Ethan and Benny was in Ethan's room. Benny was packing the holy water guns into a backpack while Ethan was on his computer.

"Hey, look. They have thirty other towns on their route. They've been running this scam for years." Ethan said. "Probably wouldn't go on much longer if people found out they were real vampires." He intoned. "We could use this against them." Benny came and leaned over his shoulder. "To what? Bore them to death?" He joked causing Ethan to roll his eyes. "Seriously though E, how do you think that would go? Who'd believe us if we told them 'hey, those nurses you've been giving blood to every year that definitely has some form of credentials are fakes and vampirs. We're high school kids, believe us'!" Ethan looked at Benny.
