"What're you sorry for, darling?" Erika asked. "Come now, the audience is awaiting your message."
"I...I think...I..." I tried to say, but kept stopping myself.
I mean...why wouldn't I? It doesn't feel good accusing someone who you consider at least a friend and or acquaintance of murder, especially in front of everyone.
"You're gonna speak up?" Nijiko asked. "Or are you gonna keep whining like a baby?"
"It's I...I think I know who the killer is." I mustered up the courage to say as the room all erupted at that revelation.
"H-huh!? Then who is it?" Iona asked as I tried to avoid eye contact with everyone.
What do I do...what do I do...
I don't want to do this...but...I have to, right?
Ugh....someone please help...
"The killer he speaks of is Mitsukuni Kocho, the Ultimate Puppeteer." Asumi suddenly said.
W-what...that's not....
"W-wha!?" The butterfly puppet exclaimed In surprise.
"Bzz, what do you mean it's us!?"
"Did anyone see you go to the cafeteria alone to cook your midnight snack? You have no one backing up your alibi." Asumi said coldly to the puppeteer as everyone started to look at him.
"Well...you are right, no one did see him come back to the dorms, right?" Tsurugi said to everyone.
"Weird... I'm pretty sure I heard someone come back to the dorms after Urara. I heard the sound of the dorm doors opening." Iona said.
"I mean honestly I figured we couldn't trust the guy who has the porn protagonist hairstyle, anyway." Naoki said.
"Bzz...this is all just a big misunderstanding-"
"Misunderstanding, my ass!" Umeko yelled out loudly at the puppeteer, causing the tall man to shrink as he started to cover his ears, and curl himself into a ball.
As I watched this all happening, I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. It was Hikaru.
"Reirei...are you sure it's Mitsu? I don't...think that's right." He said to me, as I could feel guilt come up inside me.
I then looked towards Asumi who was already looking at me back with a smirk.
What...is she trying to do?
....Did she plan this?
.....Whatever it may be, right now the most important thing I need to do is tell everyone the truth!
For Mitsukuni's sake...
A-and for everyone's of course! Not just him specifically.
"I...everyone?" I tried to reach out to them only for my single voice to be ignored.
"Guys, please...I have something to say." I tried to say it again, but it was still ignored.
"They won't hear you unless you let yourself be heard. Your lack of conviction is your weakness." Asumi said to me. "And with all type of weaknesses, you must fix it."
Fix it, huh?
....I...maybe I should try yelling at everyone?
But...
But...
The last time I did that, it...didn't go so well.
I...
