I focused on driving for a while, and there was a strange silence between us.

"What happened? Where are you lost?"

"Nothing, I was just thinking... parenthood is really important. I mean, a lot of people don’t truly understand its real meaning."

"Absolutely! You know, when there are fights or misunderstandings between parents, the one who suffers the most is always the child."

"True. And in some cases, the child ends up learning what they see."

"Not in every case. Sometimes, the child goes into depression, and then they silently promise themselves not to become the kind of parent their own parents were." I replied softly, not dismissing her point because it was well thought out.

"But, at the end of the day, the child is the one who suffers," she sighed deeply.

"Yes, in most cases, a child suffers at some stage of their life. Sometimes we don't understand them, and sometimes they can’t understand us."

"It’s difficult," she said, gazing out of the window.

" Look at us—our parents raised us so beautifully, and today we are proud of them." I took her hand and gently squeezed it.

"Yeah, that’s true. And more than anyone, I believe in you," she said, looking at me intently.

"Yes, and I've prepared myself. I've ordered every book on parenthood, breastfeeding, and the journey of motherhood and fatherhood that I could find!" I declared proudly.

"Why?" she asked, confused.

"Because I’ll read them! It’s my first time becoming a father, so if I don’t have experience, at least I can gather some knowledge beforehand."

"Eww! Don't you get bored reading such books? I can’t even stand them!" she said, laughing.

"So, what do you keep reading all day? You study too, don’t you?"

"Yes, I do, But I read fiction! The delusional world is far better than this one, hmmm."

"But it’s not reality," I chuckled softly.

"Yeah, that’s why we read it, dumbo!" she said, annoyed.

"Okay, okay! I was just teasing. I know you're a Wattpad girl," I smirked.

"So then why the long face? Even you should read it, you might learn something," she teased back.

"I'm already a fictional man, aren’t I?" I winked at her.

"You are, but…"

"But what? I'm the only man you’re allowed to simp for, huh?"

She burst out laughing. "Hahaha, but have you ever read a story by BleedingInk? You should at least once! She’s my favorite author, and her new book is coming soon. I’m already whipped because I know whatever she writes will be the best!" She was so excited just thinking about it.

"Well, I’ve never read anything on Wattpad before, but since you're recommending it, I can give it a try."

"Oh, you’ll become a fan! The way she covers topics is amazing. And guess what? The prologue of her book is releasing on October 13, and the first chapter comes out on October 18. I’m soooo excited!"

"What’s the book about? Do you have any idea about the storyline?" I am curious

"Hmm, nothing's revealed yet. We’ll only know when the prologue comes out. Just a few more days, but honestly, I can’t wait!"

"So should I tell the author that my wife can’t wait and to release it sooner?" I teased.

"Nooo! She’s set those dates for a reason. October 13 is her father’s birthday, and it’s also Jimin’s (from BTS) birthday. One of her readers requested the release on that date, so she agreed."

"And what about October 18?" I asked, curious.

"Oh, October 18 is Darshan Raval's birthday. And I’ve heard the next male protagonist wants to become a singer, so it fits perfectly."

"Great! She really pays attention to her readers' requests and fulfills them. I’m impressed."

"Well, look at that! We’ve been talking so much, and we’ve finally arrived," I said as I applied the brakes and walked around to open the door for her.

"Thank you, soon daddy to be," she said, taking my hand as she got out of the car.

"Rudra, I was thinking about something..."

"Bachaaa, don’t think about anything except me," I smirked.

"Enough of your jokes! We still haven’t told anyone at home that I’m pregnant," she said, a little tense.

"Let things settle a bit, and then we’ll tell them," I said softly, gently cupping her cheeks.

"I should at least tell Mishrain that she’s going to be a grandmother."

"First, let’s go inside. Eat and drink something—you haven’t had anything since morning. After that, you can tell her, please," I requested gently.

"Okay," she agreed, and just as we were heading towards our room, Mom stopped us.

"Rudra, beta."

"Yes, Mom," I said, turning around on the stairs.

"Beta, your Badi Ma was looking for you. She’s probably waiting in your room. Go and meet her," Mom’s voice had a hint of hesitation.

"Well, Mom, right now, my wife is more important to me. She hasn’t eaten anything since morning, so I’ll meet whoever I need to later." I sounded rude, but she needed to come to me, not the other way around.

"Rudra, please... I’ll say it—you should go," Aarushi tried to reassure me.

"No, if anyone wants to meet me, they can come themselves. I’m not going anywhere. Mom, just ask a servant to send them to my room."

"Alright." Mom wasn’t happy with my response, but she couldn’t push me further.

I headed straight to our room.

"I’ll talk to Rudra, Mom," Aarushi said, following close behind me.

"Rudra…"

"No, please. Not now. I don’t want any arguments right now; I’m in a good mood, and I don’t want to ruin it," I stopped her mid-sentence.

"But…"

"Listen, Bachaa, focus on yourself and our baby. That’s what’s most important right now. And I promise, I won’t go to her, but if she comes to me, I’ll definitely talk. She’s still my Badi Ma, after all. But she’ll have to apologize. If she truly considers me her own, I can’t forgive her without an apology," I said firmly, sharing my thoughts.
