Ray looked around. "Where are the kids four and under?" He asked. "We decided that we should leave them all here." Emma said. Ray gasped. "We thought about... what you said to us earlier. One more time." You said.

Flashback

"So far so good. I got everyone down to age five on our side." Don said. "They were pretty surprised but I think things'll be okay." Gilda said. "We already started training them." Don said. "Thanks you guys." Emma said. "So what do we do next? Should we tell the kids under five?" Don asked. "But do you think they'll believe us?" You asked. "Well, it's more like, can they keep a secret?" Don asked. "It's not just that either." You three turned to Gilda. "Is it really possible to bring them with us?" She asked. "Huh?" Don asked. "Don't get me wrong. It's not like I don't believe in Norman's plan. However, we are dealing with a cliff in winter, and Norman's not here to help. Once we actually escape, we don't know what's out there. I'm starting to see Ray's point.

Even though it may be a little late to feel that way." Gilda said. "So you're saying..." Don said. "If we take them along, they could get killed." Gilda said. "Gilda, if they stay here, they're gonna get shipped out." Don protested. "I know!" She shouted. "I know that, but..." Gilda looked down. "I can't bring myself to leave them. Ray's correct. So are you, Gilda." You said. "But, we don't want anyone else to get shipped out." Emma said. Don sighed and crossed his arms. "Same here." He admitted. "(Y/n) and I want to take everyone. We'll all run away." Emma said. "Yeah, but..." Gilda said. "What's wrong?" Don asked. "Well, um... what about the kids in the other plants?" Gilda asked. You and Emma gasped. "Is it okay if we're the only ones who escape? We've never seen them before. But there's a family just like us in the next plant over, right? Living life as if everything's normal." Gilda gasped. "Oh! Uh, sorry!" She said. Don turned to you and Emma. "What now, guys?" He asked. You looked down. "Good question. After all..." You looked up. "Can you get Phil?" You asked.

Time Skip

Phil smiled. "What's up?" He asked. "We need to talk. About the house and mom." Emma said. Phil's smile faded. "Hmm." He said. "I knew it. It's just like I thought." Phil said after you and Emma explained. "Huh?" You asked. "When we all played tag, Sister said stuff about a Harvest and I wondered what she meant. One time I saw her looking under Ray's bed. And when Norman left the house, I could tell you were really scared of mom, (Y/n). It was all weird but I didn't know why." Phil said. He looked down, then at you and Emma. "So then, Norman got harvested, huh? Conny too." Phil said as he bean to cry. "And the others, that's why you guys..." Phil began to cry and you hugged him. "Phil." You said.

Current moment

"We won't take them yet. Only Phil knows the truth. The others don't know about the house or fire. So we're leaving it to Phil." Emma said. Ray was in shock.

Flashback

"All right. Hear us out. We don't know what option we should go with. Do we take everyone including the babies? Or should we leave the kids under five?" Emma asked. "Huh?!" Don and Gilda asked in shock. "We only get harvested when we turn six. And even though Marnya's birthday is the earliest, she'll still have a year and a half. Fifteen of the older kids will be gone. Since this house focuses on quality, the pace of harvesting should start going down. If they want to raise high quality kids here again, they can't kill ones with potential." You said. "That said, you and the other five who are four years old all have good scores. So it's best to let you develop." Emma said. "If we had to take a guess, I'd say we have about two years." You said. Don gasped. Don and Gilda ran over. "Wait, you mean-" Don said. Phil smiled. "I can wait. Promise." He smiled. Then he looked at you and Emma. "So just leave us here." He said. Don and Gilda gasped.

Current moment

"We don't plan on ever giving up." Emma said. "(Y/n) and I will return here within two years. And when we finally do, we'll escape with Phil and the rest of our siblings." Emma said. "Along with kids from the other four plants." You added. The alarm went off as all of you continued running together. "They're already being alerted." Emma said. Ray ran over. "What now? We're still far from the bridge!" He said. You pointed to the cliff. "We're crossing here!" You said. Ray gasped. "But I'm pretty sure Norman said..." he gasped. Gilda smiled. "It'll be okay. All of us trained a lot for this." She said. "You what?" He asked in shock. Don swung swung rope around the tree. "Nat!" Don said. "Got it!" Nat said. "Yeah!" Everyone cheered.

"So then, we're gonna..." Ray said. "It's fine. The first person just has to cross." You said. Don used a hanger to swing across to the other side. "What?!" Ray asked. Ray gasped and Don landed on the other side. The children cheered. "Yeah! It worked!" Emma said. "Okay, we're up next!" Lannion said. "Huh?" Ray asked. Lannion and Thoma sent two more ropes into the air and launched more to the other side. "We did it!" They cheered. Don tied more to the trees.  "All right! We're all good!" Don called. "See you later, Ray!" Nat said as he swung across. More kids ran to the ropes and put hangers onto them. "Wait a second. When did you... train for this?" Ray said. Ray looked and suddenly saw Norman beside him. "Well, Ray?" Norman asked. Ray gasped and Norman chuckled. Ray gasped, then smirked. "What a smug face. It's irritating." Ray said.

"Just admit it. We completely fooled you, didn't we?" Norman asked. "You'll show me something cool, so shut up and follow, huh?" Ray asked. "And I kept my word. Look. We never thought something like this was possible." Norman said. "Yeah, honestly. Taking everyone seemed like a pipe dream. I kinda figured they'd all just hold us back." Ray admitted. "You weren't the only one." Norman said and Ray looked at him. "But I made my decision in the end. All because of (Y/n). Thanks to her and Emma, everyone joined without question. They're both reckless and naive, but true to themselves.

They can say that we're taking everyone without wavering." Norman then smiled at him. "You don't have to give up, okay, Ray?" He asked. Ray gasped, then smiled. "And one more thing." Norman looked at him. "Look after (Y/n) for me." He said. "Just five more!" Don called. "(Y/n). My hands." The little girl turned around with tears in her eyes. "Uh, sorry! It's too scary! I keep thinking about the cliff!" She sobbed. The two boys gasped and looked down. "What- what if, I end up falling?" She cried. The boys gasped. "F- falling?" Lannion stuttered. Emma looked at the kids. The girl continued crying as the two boys shuddered. Ray walked over to her. "It's okay, Jemima." He said as he picked her up. "I'll cross with you." Ray said. "Ray." Emma said. "Emma, you and (Y/n) still have the rope you used to get up here, right?" Ray asked. "Oh! Yeah." Emma said. "All right. Tie Jemima to me with it." Ray said. "Huh?" She asked. "You know how to slide down?" You asked. "Seems easy enough."

Ray turned to the boys. "What's wrong, guys? Don't tell me that you're chickening out." Ray said. The two boys looked at each other and quickly broke from the hug. "D- don't worry! We'll be fine!" Lannion said. "Y- yeah! Piece of cake!" Thoma said. Ray smirked. "That's what I thought." He said. "It's time to go, Jemima." Ray said as he held her. Ray then swung over to the other side. The others caught Ray as he landed. "Come on. Open your eyes. We're safe." Ray said softly. The girl opened her eyes. "Huh?" She asked. Ray pat her head. "You got me, Norman. Congrats." He whispered to himself. Emma pushed the two boys forward as they swung across. You looked at Emma and nodded.

She nodded back and swung across. "All right, (Y/n)! You're the last one!" Don shouted. You put the hanger on the rope, then gasped and turned to see Isabella. Emma and Ray gasped as he saw Isabella. Isabella was panting and you glared at her. You looked back at the smoke. "Goodbye to our house. Goodbye to the home we all grew up in and loved so much." You looked at Isabella. "And of course, bye, mom." You said. Isabella looked desperate. "Please don't go, (Y/n). I don't want my darling children to leave." She begged. You grabbed the hanger. Isabella gasped and you swung across. You glared at Isabella before running off with the others. You and Emma were leading the other kids as all of you continued to run. You smiled and wiped tears from your eyes. "We did it. We did it, Norman. We actually made it to the outside. Emma and I will go back to get the others as soon as we can. Today's a new beginning for us." You thought to yourself with a smile. You shielded your eyes from the sun as you looked ahead. "Our very first morning."
