Chapter Summary: Abhira and Armaan receive some good news that is going to change their lives.

A/N: I wrote some of these scenes a few days ago and when I saw similar elements in the episode today I was super happy. Still no romantic moments and more ddp on screen, so hopefully this story helps!

A few days later, Abhira had completed all her tests and was scheduled to meet Dr. Singh for her follow-up later that day.

In the meantime, she had become a bundle of nervous energy, anxiously anticipating the reports. What if the results were worse than initially anticipated? What if Vidya became even more upset with her, and what if Armaan, upon hearing the doctor's confirmation of her diagnosis, felt disheartened?

This constant tension manifested in Abhira's restlessness at night, leading to nightmares that left her waking up with scratches on her arms from anxious itching.

Armaan's heart ached for the pain she was inflicting on herself, and he was determined to help. Each night, as Abhira fell asleep, he would quietly take the lotion from her nightstand and gently apply it to her skin. He even bought a diffuser to fill their room with calming oils, helping her sleep through the night.

Abhira soon noticed that she woke up feeling much better each morning and silently thanked the stars—and her mumma—for sending Armaan into her life.

In return, Armaan was greeted each morning with the sweetest kisses, soothing massages before work, and the most delicious coffee he had ever tasted. In the first few days of their marriage, they had already begun doing the little things that made them feel like a real couple. Abhira took on the task of shaving Armaan's precious beard, almost nicking him as she became distracted by his jawline. She picked out his outfits, styled his hair, and motivated him to work out by rewarding him with a kiss for every push-up or sit-up he completed.

On his part, Armaan would lovingly oil Abhira's hair, meticulously follow each step of her seven-step skincare routine, help her dress, and apply sindoor on her forehead every day, following it up with a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Most surprising, however, was the addition to their bedtime routine. On the fourth night after their wedding, as Abhira settled into bed, Armaan scooted closer, his eyes shining with excitement, like a child asking for a new toy.

"Biwi, I have a slightly odd request," he said, his voice tinged with anticipation.

Abhira looked at him quizzically but nodded for him to continue.

"Can I sing to you before bed? I read somewhere that listening to someone sing can lower stress levels and aid in better sleep. To be honest, it may have been a study about toddlers being sung to, but that's not the point..." Armaan rambled, only to be interrupted mid-sentence by a sweet peck on his lips.

"My silly boy, of course you can sing to me," Abhira said, half-laughing, half-tearful. Armaan truly was the sweetest, so attentive to her struggles at night. He hugged her tightly and began to sing in the most melodious voice she had ever heard.

As the soothing sound of his voice wrapped around her, she found herself humming along and gradually drifting into a peaceful sleep. Watching her fall asleep without a trace of worry on her face filled Armaan with a mix of happiness and a pang of unworthiness.

He knew she loved him fiercely, but deep down, he felt responsible for much of her pain, even if indirectly. Vidya, continued to give them both the cold shoulder, focusing her attention on an already struggling Rohit and Ruhi. While the family loved and cared for them, in Vidya's presence, their support became muted, and her disdain grew louder. Even Dadisa was unusually quiet, but Armaan sensed something simmering beneath the surface, a tension he chose not to dwell on for his own sanity. One thing was clear: to ensure Abhira received the respect she deserved, he needed to solidify his own standing as the elder son.
