AMELIAS POV

Today Barbara and Dan were visiting! It was their first time seeing our house and I was excited. They also didn't know we got engaged because Arizona and I wanted to see their reactions in person. I got out of the shower and got ready. Arizona went downstairs to eat some food before we had to go to the airport to pick them up. I walked downstairs and smelt something sweet.

"Are you baking?" I asked.

"I made a batch of cinnamon rolls for us to enjoy later with my parents," she said, "so they're fresh."

"Looks amazing honey," I said and grabbed her waist and kissed her, "We need to leave for the airport soon."

"I know," she said, "Oh I'm so excited to tell them we're engaged."

"Me too," I said.

"Do they know you were going to do it?" Arizona asked.

"Yeah, I just didn't tell them when," I said.

"Gotcha," Arizona said.

ARIZONAS POV

We were walking into the airport and I grabbed Amelia's hand. She leaned in and kissed my cheek.

"I think they should be coming soon," I said looking at the gates.

"My eyes hurt looking at that screen," Amelia said. I chuckled and put my arm around her.

"You're cute. They're gate B4," I said. We walked to the farthest point we could go and sat down. My mom texted that they were on their way.

"Oh I see them," Amelia said and pointed out my dad, "they're right there." We got up and walked towards them.

"Arizona! Amelia!" My mom smiled and hugged us, "It's so good to see you."

"It's good to see you too mom," I smiled.

"Oh and me?" My dad joked.

"We're happy to see you too," Amelia chuckled.

"Oh and guys I know you've met my girlfriend Amelia, but this is actually my fiancé," I smiled.

"What! Are you serious?" My mom smiled and hugged us.

"Very serious," Amelia laughed and held up her hand.

"You didn't tell me! You promised photos," My mom joked with Amelia as she looked at our rings.

"We have photos. We wanted to surprise you but I will show you," Amelia laugh.

"Congratulations," My dad said, "oh this is so exciting."

Both of my parents got along well with Amelia, but she especially got along with my dad. It was nice honestly. They were outside because my dad wanted to cook something on our grill. The grill we literally bought so he could use when he visits because we aren't going to use it. I was watching them from the window and smiled. My mom walked out of the bathroom and sat down at the kitchen counter.

"The house is lovely," my mom said, "you guys decorated it so cozy."

"Oh that was all Amelia. Give that girl a card and a TJ Maxx and she can decorate anything," I laughed.

"Well she capture both of your personalities well. It's very you guys," my mom said, "and the engagement!"

"Yeah," I smiled, "she's pretty great."

"Of course I love her, but it's really nice she gets along with your father too," my mom said and joined me at the window.

"Yeah," I smiled.

"Do you think you'll have kids together?" She asked.

"I hope so," I said, "We've talked about it."

"She's a lovely girl," my mom said, "I love seeing you happy."

I was taking my makeup off in the bathroom. My parents were in the guest room. The bathroom door opened and it was Amelia.

"Oh hey sorry didn't realize you were in here," she said.

"Oh it's fine," I said, "need something?"

"No," she said softly. I could tell something was wrong.

"Do you want the bathroom?" I asked.

"I need to be alone right now," she said.

"You can have the bathroom if you want," I offered.

"No it's okay," she said and turned around and walked downstairs. I waited a few minutes and then followed her. She was sitting outside on the deck. I watched her from the window. I let her sit out there by herself for about 20 minutes and then I opened the back door.

"It's cold out come inside," I said gently.

"I don't want to," she sobbed. She looked at me and it was obvious she had been crying. I grabbed a jacket and walked outside and put it on her shoulders.

"What's going on?" I asked as I put my arms around her.

"I don't want to talk about it," she cried. I rubbed her back and pulled her into me.

"Why don't we take a nice hot bath upstairs okay? And we can talk about it or we can just sit and be together. But either way you'll be warm," I said. She looked at me and nodded.

"That would be nice," she said.

"Okay," I said. We walked upstairs and I turned the water on. Amelia walked into the bathroom and got undressed.

"My mom found out about the engagement," she said, "I don't want to talk about it."

"Okay," I nodded, "Understandable." We took a bath together and Amelia rested her head back on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry I'm such a mess," She said.

"You're not a mess," I said.

"Yes I am Arizona," she cried, "I cry about my mother all the time. You always have to comfort me and I feel so bad about it and now your parents are here and I'm still being a baby."

"Sweetheart," I said and kissed her shoulder, "I love comforting you. You're not a baby. Everything you're feeling is so valid."
