Yuvraj's pov
I can't feel my legs, and here she's laughing. I am not complaining, though. I don't think i can ever get tired of hearing her laughter. She rarely smiles, the real ones and laughing, it's a lost cause, and if this can make her laugh, i don't mind doing sit-ups for our entire lives.
*Next day*
I left for the office early as i have been skipping work way too much nowadays. I was shuffling through files as the team working on the project messes it up, creating a huge ruckus. I don't think i have been this mad before. I almost fired the entire team, but my lawyer, Anurag, denied it.
Asshole. So now i am just doing the job of the people i hired because they just don't know how to cross-check things. I was looking through my PC when someone knocked on my cabin door.
Who the hell is here!?
"Come in." I said, taking a deep breath.
"What!? It better be important." I said roughly without looking up.
"Uhh... actually, you forgot your lunch. I'll keep it here only if you are busy." I looked up hearing the melodic voice of my wife.
"Roop. I am sorry. I didn't know it was you." I said, getting up from my chair.
"It's fine, Raj. Don't stress, okay? Eat your food on time." She said with a small smile.
"I'll eat it later. Sit here first. You came to the office for the first time, at least stay for some time." I said, gesturing towards the couch in my cabin.
"Okay. Can you show me around once you are free?" She asked excitedly.
"Come then. Let me show you around." I said, forwarding my hand towards her.
"Arrey, you are busy right now. Don't worry, I'll wait." She said, looking around my cabin.
"I am free now, so let's go." I said, and she shook her head in disbelief.
"Okay, then first have your food." She said as she picked up the lunch from the table and started serving it.
After serving me food, she started feeding me rice.
"Aaj pata hai kya hua mai jab office aa rahi thi everyone were like ki aaj to sir sabko fire krdege.... itne gusse mai mai mujhe to unke samne jaane se bhi drr lgta hai yeh woh..." She said, mimicking my staff as her eyes glittered in amazement.
"Acha or kya bol rahe the?" I asked, and she smiled.
"One said ki ab jawalmukhi fatne se pehle chutti ka time ho jaye wrna unhe koi bacha nahi payega! Itna darte hai yeh log!! Kon hai yeh jalaad jiska itna khauf hai." She said, holding her laughter as i chocked on the spoonful of rice she just fed me.
"You okay?" She said, patting my back as she passed me a glass of water from the other hand.
"Yeaa...h." I said in between my coughs.
"Have you eaten?" I asked, and she shook her head, and so we ate together.
After having lunch, i showed her around the office, and she was just staring at everything wide-eyed.
"Arrey, she's the jawalamukhi wali employee." She tip-toed on her legs and whispered in my ear, and i just shook my head, laughing with her.
Well, someone's getting fired for her behavior now.
"I just hope Mr. Jawalamukhi doesn't fire her. She seems sweet." She said, swaying her hand along with mine, which was in her hold.
Okay, i won't fire her.
"Why is everyone staring at us like we just ran away after murdering the love of their life?" She asked, pouting as she noticed some of the employees staring at us wide-eyed.
"Maybe because i am your Mr. Jawalamukhi!" I said, and her steps halted, and she started laughing.
"Yo... you can't be se... serious! You are so cute and sweet! How can you be, Mr. Jawalamukhi?" She said in between her laughs and then looked at my serious expressions, and her eyes widened in horror.
"You aren't joking." She asked, and i nodded.
She then cupped my cheeks, squishing them between her palms and looked at me, squinting her eyes.
"Nah. My Raj is too sweet." She said, shaking her head as i stood there with around thirty of my employees watching me.
She'll definitely make them wonder if i have a twin brother or split personality disorder.
"Acha meri maa jaisa aap kahe." I said, kissing her palm, and she took her hands back, and we walked towards the exit.
"By the way are you Mr. Jawalamukhi for real?" She asked again as she settled inside the car.
"For you I am just Raj. Now forget it okay." I said as i pecked her forehead.
"Text me once you reach home." I said and she smiled as the driver drove her back.
I just came from office 15 minutes ago and was sitting in the living room as Avu bored me about how she and Kartik are going on a date day after tomorrow, and she's so excited and suggesting how me and Roop should do the same. As much as i am tempted by the idea, there's a lot going on with her right now, so maybe sometime later.
"Malhotra." I heard Anurag's voice.
"What are you doing here?" Avu asked, annoyed.
"Seriously, what is your problem with me, Attention seeker Malhotra!" He said, scoffing as he pushed her aside and settled between me and her.
"Gorilla!" She said making a face.
"Dumbo." He retorted.
"I just want to get away with one murder in my life, and that has to be you." Avu replied, rolling her eyes.
"I am scared now. Should I go and hide?" He replied sarcastically with a tight-lipped smile.
Avu was about to reply when her phone went off.
"It's my fiance. I'll leave. Bye-bye chimpanzee." She said smiling as she waved at us walking upstairs.
"Seriously, grow up, you two." I said to him only to realize he's still staring in the direction Avu left.
"Huh!? Yeah. Actually i have some urgent work so I'll leave now." He said and left in a hurry.
What's with him now?
