Flashback (Taylor):
"SO this is it?" He questioned, tears ridding his vision almost making it impossible to see. "It's for the best Joe" she sighed, her heart hurting.
He nodded, ingesting a large gulp of air. The tension between the two lit a flame that seem impossible to put out.
"I know. I just wish things had ended differently between us" he replied. His English accent broke, haunted by his own decisions.
Taylor hummed, brushing a tear or two away from her tinted cheeks. She had given the past six years, hopelessly devoted to the man stood in front of her.
It hurt.
Her brother Austin tried to comfort her in the days following the spilt. Tree doing her best to keep the news private, at least for now.
Taylor was an absolute mess, secluding herself just to the walls and comfort of her room. She couldn't bring herself to enter her favorite space of the house.
Her in home studio.
She wouldn't dare allow her fingertips to dance across the keys that played sweet melodies. It was too painful right now.
Joe left a few days after, signing onto a movie that was being shot in London. He had seemed for the most part, alright. But behind closed doors he too, was a mess.
The two talked about getting married for years now. Joe even having his extravagant plan to pop the question, late in the year when each of their work had slowed down
The public eye devoured their public appearances, displaying some PDA. This relationship felt much different than any of her previous ones.
Maybe because she truly believed that he was the one. But he wasn't and it wasn't meant to be.
Andrea consolidated Taylor, telling her that it was okay to hurt. And it really did.
She didn't however, have a lot of time to grieve the loss of the relationship because before she knew it she was preforming her first show of the tour. It was the first time in years that she would be standing on that stage where thousands of fans screamed her name.
She didn't think she would ever get over the feeling of adrenaline she felt while playing the shows.
This tour marked her first one since the reputation tour in 2018 and due to the pandemic, she hadn't been on the road since. But one thing was for sure, she had made it a long way since then.
She had written four albums since the last tour and around the time she met Joe was when she released Lover. It was as many would describe a cutesy love album dedicated to the boyfriend she loved so dearly at the time.
Nothing could prepare her for what could have happened though.
So there she stood, backstage about to play the first of three sold out shows in Glendale, Arizona. Although, Taylor was blessed with impeccable stage presence since she began her career all those years ago, she was a bit nervous.
