We got to the bunker before Dean. He's probably still performing for his crowd of one.
I look around, and this? This dusty ass factory is what I am going to be hiding out in for the foreseeable future? "You live.. Here." I said, "It's way cooler on the inside" Sam said. I still don't feel reassured. What about this place is supposed to be so instrumental in protecting me from Abaddon? Did asbestos have some anti demonic property that I wasn't aware of? In the distance we heard the roar of the Impala and the blaring chords of Welcome to the Jungle. It feels very appropriate for my mood right now. I enjoy Gun's and Roses and AC/DC but I'm much more of a Queen fan.
Dean waited until he was done playing his air guitar to chime in. "Welcome to your new home Kennie!" "Thanks for the nice entrance music." I said as he got out of the Impala and stretched his legs. "My pleasure, ya need more, lemme know." Sam was in danger of seeing his own brain with how much he was rolling his eyes. "I'll keep that in mind." I said.
"No offense, but I still don't understand what's so special about this place." I told them as we walked down a small flight of stairs and to the front door. Did all factories have doors like this? I touched the door and it was pure iron. I looked at the boys and they smiled as Dean opened the door.
"Son of a bitch" is the only thing I managed to say when I walked in the door and to the railing. Beneath me I saw a strange table and string of chairs, old tech, like old old. Before a walkman old. I went to the table and it was a map? "A map?" I asked. "The war room and this is" he takes me to the adjacent room, leading me with his hand on my back. "The library," There were large wooden tables and chairs with countless books everywhere. "See that there" he said, pointing to the wall a strange, glowing symbol was etched above a doorway "These are wards. This entire building is warded from everything you can think of." "And they're magically reinforced. Abaddon can't get in unless she's invited and the wards are taken down." Dean said. For the first time in almost 24 hours, I breathed a sigh of relief. I'm safe here. I'm safe.
Sam resumed his tour. This building had everything: a kitchen, gym, infirmary, a garage, a laundry room, showers, and god knows what else. "Okay" I finally said. "I take back all the negativity. This place is awesome!" I sat down on my new bed. I'm so excited to have my own bed again. I haven't had my own bed in so long. "We'll have you trained up in no time." Sam said "We're going to get started soon so unpack and rest up. You'll meet Kevin tomorrow and we'll sit down and come up with a game plan." "Why can't I meet Kevin today?" I asked "He's been going through a hard time and needs to cool off for a bit." He told me, I hope he's okay. "From what you've told me about him, I can't wait to meet him!" "He's a good kid. You guys will hit it off."
"I think I'm going to hit the showers and unpack. I also have to get to work soon. I'm really behind." I told him "You have a case in the works, already?" He asked incredulously. "No, I run an online business. I used my cases and traveling to start an online blogging business." Sam nodded and he seemed impressed, "Smart." "Yeah, I make a decent amount of cash. I'm not rich but I'm also not committing fraud." Sam seemed to wince at the last part. "I can handle demons and monsters but I refuse to fight the government. Mostly because I'd lose." I said. Sam laughed. "Welp," he said, "then, I'll leave you alone and let you get to it." Sam walked away. Leaving me to my room.

I looked up from my beer and "Hey Sammy," "Hey" he said, grabbing himself a beer and across from me in his usual spot. "How'd it go with Kevin?" "Eh, he's just bummed. He'll be okay." I was drastically understating it. "Yea, Crowley being here has been doing a number on him." I nodded "Crowley has his Mom." I added "I'd be goin' ballistic too" Sam laughed and nodded in agreement. I can't imagine how all this must be hurting him.
"How's the girl doin" I asked, desperately trying to change the subject. He sighed "She seems to be doing better. She was a nervous wreck on the way here. Can't really blame her though." "I still don't understand why Abbadon wants her... She can't use her powers" I said as Sam nodded and I continued, sipping my beer "She cant control them so she isn't a threat and, she can't possess her. So, her plan to have the girl popping black eyes ain't gonna work either." "She probably wants her off the board" Sam said, "Is she a threat now? No. She can easily become one. Now that she knows she has powers." True. The mind blast thing she did had Abbadon running with her tail behind her legs. There's no telling what she'll be able to do once she learns to control it. "We need to get her trained and fast" He said "With her power on our side" "and Crowley, bound and gagged in the dungeon." I interjected "And Crowley, we might be able to turn the tides of all this in our favor." If any of this is going to work we have to start soon. There's no telling when Abbadon will make a reappearance and what she'll do once she does. "How are we even going to train her to use her abilities? I don't have any and yours are long gone." I said "Already on it." Sam relied. "I called Missouri" I was fumbling through my head trying to remember. We meet so many people it's hard to remember names. "Moseley" Sam said with a blank expression "The psychic"
—Kennie POV—
I took a long, hot shower. It was nice to get the demonic ick off my skin and relax. It's been a while since I was able to shower without having to scrunch myself into the tight space of a dirty, cheap motel bathroom. It was nice to actually be able to move around. I languished in the boiling hot water and had a "princess shower". I love doing those self indulgent rituals after a job. It was a nice way to reset. It always used to drive Irv insane. "You don't need to be in there all damned day!! We gotta check out before noon!" He'd always tell me, agitated to no end. It used to piss me off. It's not like he paid for a whole hell of alot. I took over most of our expenses so he wouldn't be committing fraud. A pang of sadness hit my heart. It's still difficult to believe he'll never annoy me again. He'll never yell at me for taking long showers. Never try to prank me in the car while I'm sleeping. Never drill me with questions to test my knowledge. If I was ever going to cry my eyes out. Now's the time. Letting the pain fully hit me, the water washed my tears and the sounds of the shower covered my sobs. I never realized, in the short time I was with him, how close we had gotten and how deeply I cared for him. It's a tragedy that I didn't realize how profound of an impact he had on me until after he was gone. In a lot of ways that hurt me the most. Enough crying I said to myself Irv is gone, there's nothing you can do about it.
I sighed and turned the water off. I dried off and looked in the mirror. My eyes were puffy and red. I got dressed and walked into the hallway. "Hey," Dean said as I nearly ran into him "Did you save any water for the fishes?" He asked, "Nope, I bet they're good eatin though. Just go on down and grab some." I replied Dean laughed then he took a closer look at my eyes. "You good?" "Yeah, eventually. The past couple of days have been a lot on me. "I get it," he said "This job can get really hard on you. I can't tell you the amount of people we've lost. You never get used to it." He looked at me with a note of pain in his expression. He's lost a lot. "It'll be okay." he said "It'll just take some time." he patted my shoulder "Just lemme know if you need anything." I smiled, "I will." We stood there for a minute. Like idiots.
"Seriously though," He continued "Is there any hot water left?"
