"My queen, Lady Alicent, wishes to speak with you. Shall I let her in?" Ser Criston asked the red-haired queen who was watching the waves from her balcony. She thought over it before nodding, letting him know to let her in.

"Your Grace," Alicent greeted, bowing to her sister who didn't look her way.

"Why are you here? To plead for Rhaenyra?" Lilly asked, scoffing as she shook her head, finally turning to face her elder sister with raised brows.

"I understand that you are angry about what happened, sister, but Jace and Luke were only defending themselves." Alicent started doing exactly what her sister expected, pleading for Rhaenyra.

"Defending themselves from what Alicent?"

"From the vile accusations your son threw at them, those words are treason but also could lead to his own nephew's deaths, and he spat them out loud with no care," Alicent answered, her voice raising slightly.

"Those bastards called my true-born sons bastards said that I screwed my guards, which is humorous as that is exactly what their own mother did; they attacked my son for claiming a free dragon; they took my son's eye; they used physical attacks against verbal attacks in a fight they started." Lilly snapped quietly, knowing her son was a few feet away in her room asleep.

"Lilly"

"Do you care at all for me and my children? Jace proclaimed my sons as bastards, which could have easily had them sent to the wall or to their deaths; she tried to order my son, who just lost his eye, to be tortured, yet no one seems to care in this family; all they care for is precious Rhaenyra and her fucking monstrous bastards."

"Because he committed treason, and you attacked and harmed the fucking heir!" Alicent shouted at her, causing Lilly to deliver a blow that echoed through the chambers, but she was not done harshly gripping her face and watching as Alicent trembled tears gathering in her eyes trying to pry her hands from her face.

"Look at my fucking son," Lilly snapped, forcing her to look at the sleeping boy. "There is no excuse for the pain and agony my little boy suffered." Her voice broke as she spoke before forcing her sister to look at her.

"You standing here has shown what side you are on again, and you will die when the time comes either by my hands or my command tread carefully, Lady Alicent, and I vow in the eyes of the old and new gods that I will return the pain and agony that I and my children have suffered to you and that whore you follow."

She let her go watching as she held her face, sniffling, absolutely terrified of her little sister not being able to recognize her.

"Get the hell out of my chambers, stay the hell away from my children, or that death will come a lot sooner than you think," Lilly threatened, watching as she scurried out of the room like the little mouse she was.

Daemon looked over the sea from the ledge that surrounded Driftmark. It was one of Laena's favorite places to watch the sunset; it brought him comfort as if she were here with him. His peace did not last long as Rhaenyra approached him.

"You have some guts coming up to me right now." Daemon stated, and his words confused Rhaenyra.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I mean, these last few days were supposed to be about honoring my dead wife, and you and your sons have ruined that."

"You cannot possibly blame me for what has happened; it was not my fault."

"Then where were you, Rhaenyra, when your sons attacked Aemond? Where were you while your brother was being ambushed?"

"Where were you?" She countered smug "Rhaena and Baela attacked Aemond as well, and Rhaena was hurt."

"Lillian's chambers, then the caves, we headed to Aemond right after we saw him fly into the night on Vhagars back. We were there at the end and witnessed such things while you were nowhere to be found, and you looked quite a mess when you did come to the great hall."

"I went for a walk."

"And tripped onto a dick?"

"How dare you?"

"What make an assumption? I saw you eyeing that man who is no doubt a bastard to Lord Coryls."

"I noticed the similarities to Coryls and my husband. I was taken aback," she argued, looking nervous.

"mmh"

They stood in silence before she broke it, turning to face him. "I need you, uncle," she admitted, admiring him.

"nyke daor laehurlion se greens mērī ivestragī īlva letagon īlva ānogar sepār hae aegon se conqueror gōntan rūsīr rytsa sisters rūsīr ao hae issa valzȳrys se prince consort issa claim would daor sagon sīr easily challenged se velaryon issi hen embar yn ao se nyke issi vēttan hen perzys īlon emagon va moriot issare meant naejot zālagon hēnkirī." ("I cannot face the greens alone; let us bind our blood just as Aegon the Conqueror did with his sisters; with you as my husband and prince consort, my claim would not be so easily challenged; the Velaryons are of the sea, but you and I are made of fire; we have always been meant to burn together."

"We could not marry unless Laenor were dead," Daemon whispered as he sat down, looking up at her as she took a deep breath.

"I know" was all she said, smiling. Laenor was wrong. Daemon did want her; this proved it. She would finally have the man she truly loved, and Lilly would not betray Daemon, so she would never hurt her or her sons. The plan was brilliant.

"One problem though," Daemon stated after a moment, his notorious Daemon Targaryen grin resting on his lips, confusing her.

"What is it?" she asked, stepping closer to him.

"I would rather impale myself on Dark Sister and bleed out than be tied to you for an eternity; my loyalties lie with the queen and her children."

His declaration of where his loyalties laid broke her heart. She stepped back as if she had just been slapped. Daemon was siding with the greens with the daughter of Otto Hightower.
