I stood before the infamous Khun Vegas's mansion, a symbol of power and fear. The mafia boss's residence was a fortress, surrounded by tall walls, iron gates and surveillance cameras. The lawn was immaculate, with marble statues and exotic plants.
As I entered, bodyguards in black suits flanked me, their eyes scanning for threats. Their stern faces and muscular builds intimidated me.
One guard, seemed different. His expression hinted at kindness.
"Follow me," he said, leading me through the grand hall.
The interior was breathtaking, crystal chandeliers, marble floors and expensive artwork.
We climbed the staircase, adorned with golden railings, to the third floor.
"This is your quarters," he said. "You'll start working tomorrow."
"What will I do?" I asked.
"Main will explain to you tomorrow" he replied. "For now, rest."

.Morning light flooded the kitchen as the main maid explained my duties. I worked diligently, until a voice interrupted me.
"Who are you?"
I turned to face a boy in a school uniform, his bag slung over his shoulders. Suspicion filled his eyes.
I recalled the maid mentioning Khun Vegas's younger brother, so I bowed.
"Khun...," I began.
"I asked who you are!" he said firmly, curiosity sparking in his voice. "I've never seen you here before."
He dropped his bag onto the couch and sat on the kitchen counter, eyes fixed on me.
"I... I'm the new servant, Khun," I replied, looking down.
"Hey, stand up straight! I'm younger than you, no need to bow," he said with a disarming smile.
I stood straight, trying to hide my nervousness.
"Hmm... so what's your name, Mr. Servant?" he asked playfully, grabbing an apple.
I stopped him before he took a bite. "Wait... don't eat it yet. You should wash it first. Fruits have lots of bacteria."
He nodded, and I washed and cut the apple for him.
"Thanks," he said, taking a bite. "You haven't told me your name yet."
I chuckled at his infectious enthusiasm. "Pete. My name is Pete."
"Nice to meet you, Pete. I'm Macau," he said with a radiant smile.
Unlike his older brother, Macau exuded warmth and innocence.
"You seem older than me. Can I call you Phi, and you can call me Macau?" he asked, eyes sparkling.
"Khun, you're my master. I'm your servant. I can't call you by your name," I protested.
Macau's expression turned stern.
"No. From now on, I'll call you Phi, and you'll call me Macau. Understand? This is my order, and you can't deny your master's order."
I hesitated before nodding, drawn to his charming smile.
As we talked, I discovered Macau's easygoing nature.
He shared stories about school, friends, favorite foods and hobbies. I listened intently, finding solace in his warmth.
Our talking session was interrupted by a strong, commanding voice.
"What's going on here?" I stiffened after hearing his voice, my heart racing. I gulped and turned towards him, bowing my head.
"Good morning, Khun," I said slowly, not daring to look up. I could feel his eyes on me, but I kept my gaze downcast.
Khun Vegas nodded and went to sit at the dining table, his presence of radiating authority. His tone changed when he spoke to Macau.
"Mac, why are you sitting on the counter?" Macau quickly got down from the counter and went to sit beside his brother at the dining table.
I served Khun Vegas his breakfast - black coffee, just the way he liked it. For Macau, I brought out a pancake with honey, just as he had requested earlier. My hands trembled slightly as I placed the dishes in front of them, trying not to make eye contact with Khun Vegas.
The atmosphere in the room had shifted, becoming more formal and tense. I could sense the power dynamic between the two brothers, with Khun Vegas as the dominant figure.
I kept my head down, focusing on my tasks, trying to blend into the background.
"Mac, how was school today?" Khun Vegas asked, his deep voice a contrast to Macau's bright chatter.
"It was great, hia! We did a science experiment and I got to be the one to mix the chemicals!" Macau exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement.
Khun Vegas nodded, his expression stern, but his eyes flicking towards me, watching as I poured the coffee. I felt his gaze like a weight, but tried to focus on my task.
"And what about your friends, Mac? How are they?" Khun Vegas asked, his tone softening slightly.
"Oh, they're all good! We're planning a trip to the beach next weekend. Can I go, hia? Please?" Macau asked, bouncing up and down in his seat.
Khun Vegas's eyes narrowed, his mind clearly elsewhere. I knew he was watching me, and I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I spilled a drop of coffee on the table.
"Clumsy," he muttered under his breath, but Macau didn't notice.
"Phi, can I have another pancake" Macau asked, his smile infectious.
Khun Vegas's gaze snapped back to his brother, a small smile playing on his lips before he covered it with his usual stern expression.
As khun Vegas was having his breakfast, one of his bodyguards came running in, looking urgent.
"Khun Vegas!" he bowed, his voice low and respectful.
Vegas looked up at him, his usual cold and blank expression unreadable. He gestured for the bodyguard to continue, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Khun Kinn is here," the bodyguard said, his voice firm.
Vegas's expression didn't change, but he pushed his chair back and stood up, his movements fluid and graceful. He ruffled Macau's hair, his touch surprisingly gentle. "I'll be back, Mac," he said, his voice low.
And with that, he turned and walked out of the dining room, leaving Macau and Pete behind. The bodyguard followed close behind him, his eyes scanning the room before disappearing from sight.
"Pkinn? What's he doing here?" I whispered, but before I could ask Khun Macau, the maid called my name.
