A/N - this is quite a long chapter but there's some important stuff 🙏 might make it two parts to be easier lol

—ASTRAS POV—
(Aged 18, a seconds later)

This is it, my first day of uni...
Me, Ivy and At least 300 other kids stood and waited eagerly for the headmaster to arrive I couldn't help but think about what Ivy said, no matter what I couldn't let that happen again. I began to stare off into the distance thinking of possible ways to avoid another situation but my thoughts were swiftly interrupted by the sudden slamming of doors. The once deafening crowd took that as a sign to shut up and went silent in an instant as a well dressed, tall man walked in.

The mysterious man was dressed in a expensive looking suit along with a sleek pair of black dress shoes, 'damn outfit probably costs more than my tuition...'. While walking the man appeared to be scanning the room, analyzing everybody's faces with a emotionless look, well that was until he spotted Ivy, upon making eye contact his expression shifted to a beaming smile before his dispassionate mask slipped into place once more. "Do you know him?" I asked Ivy in a low, hushed to avoid drawing attention to us. "Ill erm... explain later" was all she said while trying to hid a very guilt look. I tried to brush off my feelings of confusion and turned my attention back towards the front of the room where the man was now positioned behind a lectern. 'Must be the headmaster or something... but how does Ivy know them?" My mind began to wander again. After a few moments of silence the figure began to talk, "greetings and salutations, my name is Steven Lawrence but you can call me Steve, I am new headmaster here and I would like to personally welcome your freshman year here at west ridge!" As soon as he finished speaking the room erupted with cheers and applause. The headmaster proceeded to direct us to student resources where we would be able to pick up or new schedules for the next year.

It was a struggle trying to beat the crowds and get out of the hall but ivy's uncaring attitude got us to the front of the the mob of students. When we finally got to the student resource desk it was just about to be first period, I quickly collected my time table and saw that I had psychology for the first two hours of the day and then break, because of me and Ivy being polar opposite we barely have any lessons together this year, she wants to be a performer and chose the arty subjects, you know drama, dance, advanced art... that kind of thing, and then there me who chose the more academic subjects, when we applied to this school we got a choice of 5 subjects so I went with the bold choice of psychology, history, English literature, law and of course music, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't make music or play my drums anymore, plus that is like the only lesson me and Ivy actually have together. Not wanting to be late I swiftly said my goodbyes to Ivy and walked off to find my lecture.

I don't actually know where I'm going in this school so I just sorta walked done some random hallway, hoping that I would find my room somewhere. But after about 5 minutes of walking I finally recognized that I was lost. 'Great my first day and I already can't find my lesson. Why is this school so bloody big!' I mentally cursed while looking at the ground. I kept walking until I slammed into something infront of me, knocking me to the ground and scattering my books. My lack of energy from this morning left me in a temporary haze as I tried to gather myself back up.

As I scrambled to collect my items a sincere voice started to frantically apologize, "I'm so sorry, it's completely my fault I was so distracted by the statue of Anne Boleyn that I must have walked into you-". I quickly cut them off knowing it was my fault, "honestly it's fine, I was distracted while trying to find my lecture, I should be the one apologizing!" After finally gathering up my stuff, I stood up to meet the gaze of the person i'd just walked in to, turns out I've walked into some rich boy, he had blond wavy hair, icy blue eyes and was dressed head to toe in Ralph Lauren. 'Jesus how many rich people go here?' I thought while still admiring his expensive style.

"Im Luca by the way, need help with anything? I'm pretty familiar with the grounds layout" he asked in a soft NewYork accent. "Oh erm my names Astra, and yeah I'm actually very lost right now, do you know where room 126 is?"  "Nice to meet you, yeah 126... psychology right? its straight down the hall and to the left!" He direct me while walking in down the hallway he was pointing at. Unsure of what else to do I simply followed him, hoping he would lead me in the right direction. We walked down a few more hallways before coming across a grand doorway, "And here we are! Room 126. Well have fun in your lesson, see you around Astra" Luca said in a cheerful tone. "Thank you so much, yeah see you around" I attempted to say in the same tone despite my nervousness creeping back in. To make matters worse I was already 20 minutes late to the lecture. I opened the door trying to be as quite as possible, but the universe had other plans as the door let out the LOUDEST squeak in world as I pushed it open. All attention was turned to me, I don't handle embarrassment we so tried to avoid any more attention by creeping over to and sitting in the nearest seat I could.

I have to admit psychology was better than I expected, the professor was called mr miller and he was VERY enthusiastic about how the brain works. For the first hour of the course we just sat, listened and took notes on the science behind the brain, because it's the first day the work wasn't super hard but it was still very challenging, nothing I couldn't handle though. Later on we moved over to a more concentrated subject, Mr miller went on to teach us about  the frontal lobe of the brain for the rest of the lecture, and how is the most important part of the brain as it stores our memories and emotions, he nicknames it "the key to all humans". Just as Mr miller was about to start demonstrating how the frontal lobe worked the bell went, I won't lie I was actually looking forward to the demonstration, but at least I had a break now so I could go see Ivy again.

At the start of the day we made an agreement to meet up at the student resources desk where we were this morning, and from there we could go off and find a spot to call ours for the next few years. Our break was only 15 minutes long and by the time I actually managed to navigate the maze they call hallways there was only 7 minutes left. When I got to the resources desk I spotted Ivy talking to some blond boy, 'wait is that- oh god' I stood frozen in place, no way Is the same guy I walked into earlier the guy Ivy was telling me about from her holiday. Finally noticing me behind the boy, ivy's eyes averted her gaze over to me, instantly her face lit up with a smile and she waved me over to them.

"ASTRA, you know the guy I was telling you about on the way to school yesterday... well this is him! Meet my boyfriend luca!" She said the moment I came over. Before I even had a chance to saying anything back Lucas icy blue eyes stared down at me as he opened his mouth to speak. "Well if it's isn't the lost psychological puppy" he began in a mocking manner, to which I just simply glared at him. "You guys have met?" Ivy questions. "Yeah, Astra here was a bit lost when she ran into me... literally to" he replied. "Well great! No need for introductions then". I smiled in response not knowing what to say, luckily for me by best friend is a yapper so there's hardly ever silence, ivy's rambling was cut short by the bell, all known as my savior. Unsure of what I have I check my time table to see I've got history, possibly my favorite subject out of the lot.
