The wind whipped through the streets as Y/N walked out of the small coffee shop, clutching her warm cup in both hands. The city was alive with noise, but in her own little bubble, everything felt quieter—until a sudden gust of air nearly knocked her off balance.

She didn't have time to react before a blur of silver and blue stopped right in front of her, causing her to take a step back in surprise.

"Whoa, careful there!" Pietro Maximoff grinned, standing in front of her with that familiar cocky smile. "Wouldn't want to spill that coffee now, would we?"

Y/N raised an eyebrow at him, her heart racing from the suddenness of his appearance. "Pietro, you nearly gave me a heart attack!"

He chuckled, clearly unfazed. "You should know by now I'm always moving fast, printsessa."

Y/N rolled her eyes, though a smile tugged at her lips. "Yeah, yeah. I should start wearing a bell or something so you don't sneak up on me."

Pietro tilted his head, pretending to think about it. "Hmm, I could probably still outrun the sound of that bell."

She laughed, shaking her head at his antics. "Probably. So, what brings you here? Just causing chaos, as usual?"

Pietro leaned against the brick wall beside them, crossing his arms. "Not chaos. Just checking up on you."

"Me?" Y/N's brow furrowed in confusion. "What for?"

Pietro shrugged, though the grin he wore softened into something a little more genuine. "You've been busy lately. Haven't seen you around the compound much. Just wanted to make sure you were doing okay."

Y/N blinked, surprised by his thoughtfulness. She had been busy—work, life, everything seemed to be piling up lately. But she hadn't expected Pietro to notice, let alone go out of his way to check on her.

"I didn't realize you noticed," she said softly, feeling a warmth rise in her chest. "I've just been swamped, you know? Life stuff."

"Life stuff, huh?" Pietro pushed off the wall, now standing directly in front of her. "You know, I could help with that."

Y/N laughed lightly. "I don't think super speed is gonna help me catch up on life."

He winked, leaning in just a little closer. "Oh, but it might. Just say the word, and I'll zip through your errands, tidy your apartment, and still make time for a quick race around the city."

She smiled, touched by his offer but knowing that wasn't what she needed right now. "As tempting as that sounds, I think I just need to slow down. Everything's been going so fast—well, except for me." She gave him a teasing look.

Pietro's expression softened, and for once, he didn't have a quick retort. Instead, he just nodded. "I get it. Sometimes it feels like the world's spinning out of control, even for someone like me."

Y/N studied him for a moment. There was something about the way Pietro looked at her, the way he always found a way to make her smile, that made her feel a little lighter, even when things got overwhelming. She appreciated him more than she let on.

"You know," she said quietly, "I could use some company though. If you're not too busy."

Pietro's eyes lit up, and that familiar mischievous grin returned. "Busy? For you, printsessa, never. What did you have in mind?"

Y/N thought for a moment, then smiled. "There's this park nearby. It's usually pretty quiet in the afternoons. Wanna walk with me?"

He raised an eyebrow, clearly fighting back the urge to joke about how slow walking was. But instead, he just nodded, his grin softer this time. "I'd love that."

As they started walking side by side, Y/N couldn't help but feel a little calmer with Pietro next to her. Even though he was always in a rush, he had slowed down for her. It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot.

They walked in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying the crisp air and the sound of the city around them. Y/N took a deep breath, letting herself relax for the first time in days.

"You know," Pietro said after a while, "I'm not usually one for slowing down, but with you...it's nice."

Y/N glanced up at him, surprised by the sincerity in his voice. "Really?"

"Yeah," he admitted, his gaze soft. "I'm always moving so fast that I miss a lot of things. But when I'm with you, it feels like...like time slows down. I get to actually enjoy the moment."

Y/N felt her heart skip a beat at his words. She wasn't sure if he knew how much that meant to her, but hearing Pietro—someone who lived his life in fast-forward—say that he enjoyed slowing down with her, made her feel special.

"Pietro..." she began, not sure what to say. She stopped walking and turned to face him, her cheeks slightly pink from the cold air—or maybe something else.

He stopped too, looking at her with those blue eyes that always seemed to be filled with energy but now held something softer, something more tender.

"You don't always have to slow down for me," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But...I'm glad you do."

Pietro took a step closer, his usual smirk replaced by a gentle smile. "For you, I'd slow down anytime."

Y/N felt a rush of warmth at his words, her heart fluttering in her chest. Before she could overthink it, she stepped forward, closing the distance between them. "Good," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Without thinking, she leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, her lips brushing against the warmth of his skin.

Pietro froze for just a moment, clearly caught off guard, but when she pulled back, his grin returned, this time a little softer, a little more genuine.

"Well," he said, his voice light but his eyes full of something deeper, "maybe next time, I'll make the first move."

Y/N laughed, the sound bright in the cool air. "You? Slow enough to make the first move? I'll believe it when I see it."

Pietro winked, his smile wide. "I guess you'll just have to wait and see, printsessa."

And with that, they continued walking side by side, the city around them moving fast, but for once, neither of them was in a rush.
