He broke up with me, bluntly admitting I was no longer on his priority list. Yet, after a month of silence, a viral post exploded on my screen—a birthday greeting for me lit up in Times Square and on the MOA Globe. The worst part? It included a proposal. And to top it all off, a ring was delivered to my door.
Is he fucking kidding me?
"Are you playing with me?" I stormed into his office, flinging the ring box at him. He caught it, looking bewildered.
"Latisha, what are you doing here—oh, the ring... and the proposal," he murmured, as if suddenly realizing what was happening.
"Right, the ring and the proposal. Care to explain?" I demanded.
"I was going to propose on your birthday..."
"But you broke up with me, so what the hell is all this?"
"I forgot."
"You forgot what?" I narrowed my eyes on him.
"The proposal video... I forgot to tell Times Square and the MOA Globe to take it down after we broke up. I totally forgot..."
"Are you kidding me?" I glared at him. "You're practically begging me to start a list of 100 things I hate about Hundriel Alestair Casano Eleazar."
He scratched his head, looking sheepish. "Actually... there's one more thing."
I groaned. "One more what?"
"I forgot to cancel a scheduled email that went out today..."
"What email?"
"Inviting everyone you know to a surprise birthday party I planned for you... And since I didn't cancel it, you might want to check your email and, uh... go, 'cause the kids from your orphanage would love that."
First on my list: I hate Hunter's existence in my life.
