Saanvi sank into the bed, exhausted and relieved to have finished the chores. The laundry, neglected yesterday due to exhaustion, had piled up. She had been too overwhelmed by fatigue to wash them yesterday, which also led to Padma's displeasure. But Saanvi's weary body refused to cooperate yesterday.
Padma ranted about it the whole day frustrating the hell out of Saanvi.
Saanvi's body was on the verge of collapse, exhausted from shouldering the entire household burden. From dusting and sweeping every corner of the house to washing everyone's clothes, she bore the weight of all domestic responsibilities.
Saanvi understood Preeti's post delivery constraints and appreciated her efforts within those limits, knowing that two to three months post-delivery, she shouldn't exert herself with heavy tasks or exposure to cold water. But Preeti did contribute by preparing lunch, assisting with dinner, and managing smaller tasks that were manageable for her.
Saanvi's weary mind constantly drifted back to her mother's home, where she had enjoyed a more leisurely pace and fewer responsibilities.
She wished she could have stayed a few more days, but Padma's insistence had cut her visit short, leaving her without the chance to consult the village midwife as planned.
Despite her frustration, one thought brought her solace, the new home was finally ready. As per Panditji's words, they would perform the grihapravesh ceremony next Monday.
Abhiraj called the day after their arrival. Saanvi exchanged a few pleasantries with him, but deliberately refrained from asking why he had missed the wedding. She waited for him to offer an explanation, However, the conversation ended without any clarification, leaving Saanvi disappointed.

.As Padma and Viraj sat for the grihapravesh pooja, Saanvi and Preeti were engrossed in preparing dessert for the guests. The rest of the cuisine was already ready. Close relatives, including Saanvi's and Preeti's families had been invited.
Saanvi's brother and sister-in-law attended, representing her family. Her mother had stayed behind to care for Saanvi's ailing father, whose health had taken a turn for the worse.
As the Pooja concluded, the food was served, the guests savoured the meal, praising the cooking. Saanvi went out looking for Abhiraj as her mother-in-law asked for him and Atharva.
But suddenly, her vision blurred, and her head began to spin. She grasped the nearby wall for support, steadying herself.
Lifting her gaze, she spotted Abhiraj amidst the group of men. Taking two more steps, her legs buckled. She stretched out her hands to grab the adjacent chair, but her body succumbed to exhaustion. With a faint thud, she collapsed.
Everyone's head snapped towards the direction of the sound and collective gasps filled the air as they spotted Saanvi lying unconscious on the floor.
Abhiraj rushed to her side, gently cradling her head onto his lap. "Saanvi!" he whispered urgently, tenderly patting her cheeks in a desperate attempt to rouse her.
Abhiraj swiftly carried Saanvi inside and laid her on the mat. He sprinkled water droplets on her face, his eyes fixed anxiously on hers.
Saanvi's eyes squinted, but remained closed. Abhiraj's expression shifted from concern to relief, his features relaxing as he gently coaxed, "Saanvi, ankhein kholo!"
(Saanvi, open your eyes.)
"Bhaiya, Dr. Sumit ko phone lagao" Abhiraj said urgently.
(Brother, call Dr. Sumit)
