Kaito woke up on the morning of his first day at Eden Academy, a blend of excitement and nervousness swirling within him. As he adjusted his uniform in front of the mirror, he took a deep breath, reminding himself of the importance of making a strong impression. Today was more than just a school day; it marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
Anya, already well-acquainted with the academy, had offered him a few words of encouragement the night before. "Just be yourself, Kaito! And if anyone's mean, use your secret powers!" she had exclaimed, her enthusiasm infectious.
With a slight smile, Kaito reflected on her innocent optimism. Secret powers weren't part of his strategy, but he appreciated her unwavering support.
As he stepped through the grand entrance of Eden Academy, a mixture of awe and trepidation filled him. The impressive architecture loomed above him, embodying both tradition and ambition. Kaito squared his shoulders, determined to present himself with the maturity expected of a student at such a prestigious institution.
Navigating his way toward Cline Hall, Kaito observed the students clustered together, engaged in animated discussions. Each group had its own distinct vibe—some were confident and lively, while others appeared more reserved. He took another deep breath, centering himself for the day ahead.
"Alright, Kaito, remain composed," he muttered under his breath, adjusting his backpack as he approached the classroom.
Upon entering Cline Hall, Kaito chose a seat at the back, preferring to observe rather than draw attention to himself. The classroom buzzed with conversation as students settled in, but he remained focused, mentally preparing for the challenges that lay ahead.
Moments later, the door swung open, and in walked Demetrius Desmond, the first son of the illustrious Desmond family followed by a gang of children. Kaito had heard whispers about him—a second-year student and an Imperial Scholar, known for his impressive academic achievements.
Demetrius exuded a quiet authority, his impeccably tailored uniform adding to his imposing presence. Kaito found himself intrigued by Demetrius's calm demeanor, observing him as he took his place at the front of the classroom, exuding a sense of control that Kaito admired.
As the teacher began the class, Kaito found himself occasionally distracted by Demetrius's unwavering focus. While other students chatted, he remained diligently engaged, jotting down notes with precision. It was a striking contrast to the more casual approach of his peers.
Just as Kaito was about to get lost in his thoughts, the teacher called on him. "Kaito, can you explain the syllabus for this term?"
Caught off guard, Kaito hesitated. "Uh, sorry could you repeat that?" he asked, feeling the weight of the class's attention on him.
A few students chuckled softly, but he managed to maintain his composure. Demetrius merely observed, his expression neutral yet attentive. There was something reassuring about the way he carried himself—perhaps he understood the pressure Kaito was experiencing.
No. Seriously? Kaito shook his head.
After class, students filed out, and Kaito gathered his things, feeling a mix of relief and anticipation. As he stepped into the hallway, he unexpectedly bumped into someone.
"Watch yourself- " Kaito began, looking up to see a cloaked figure standing before him—none other than Demetrius Desmond himself.
"Do you always walk with your head down?" Demetrius replied, his tone flat yet direct with a tilt of his head. "It's a good way to miss opportunities."
Dang. How does dude's gel ass hair not move?
Kaito paused, surprised by the unexpected advice. "I suppose it is. I'm just trying to find my way around this place."
"Then maybe look up more often," Demetrius said, his expression unreadable. "You might see more than you expect"
No shit.
With that, Demetrius turned and continued on his way, leaving Kaito momentarily stunned.
As Kaito continued through his day, he found himself reflecting on the conversations and experiences unfolding around him. This was a new beginning, and he was determined to approach it with maturity, understanding that every person he encountered could offer a valuable lesson.
Later that evening, after navigating a whirlwind of classes and social dynamics, Kaito returned home. He opened the door to the Forger household, the familiar warmth and comfort welcoming him.
"Welcome back, Kaito," Loid said from the living room, his attention briefly diverted from a stack of documents. "How was your first day?"
Kaito hesitated for a moment, contemplating how to articulate his experience. "It was... informative," he replied carefully. "I met several new people, and while the classes were challenging, I believe I handled them adequately."
Loid raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Informative?"
"Ah yes." The boy cleared his throat, loosening the tie which hung tightly around his neck.
"I met rather a..odd character."
