I was still thinking about Michael, and what he said.
Did he really mean it?
After around twenty minutes or so, I got out of the shower, putting the used wash rag in the bucket of towels and other things that were due for washing.
I grabbed the towel off of the sink counter, taking in its softness and the fresh, clean scent.
It felt strange and a little humbling to be here, surrounded by all this warmth and familiarity that wasn't my own.
Ayesha and her mom treated me like I belonged, yet I couldn't shake the feeling that I was intruding somehow.
I wrapped the towel around myself and opened the bathroom door quietly, peeking out to see if Ayesha was still around. She was back in the bedroom, looking for something.
"Ayesha!" I yelled as she turned around.
"All set?" she asked with a soft smile.
"Yeah," I replied, she walked over to me. She handed me a set of pajamas, something simple but cozy.
It was some grey shorts and a pink tank top, I took the clothes and went back into the bathroom, I dried off then changed into the clothes.
I walked out of the bathroom and walked into Ayesha's bedroom, I saw her setting up a sleeping bag, which was also pink.
"You say you hate pink but everything in here is pink." I teased as she flipped me off, "I already told you, I had an unhealthy obsession with the color pink when I was younger."
"I still think that obsession is still there," I muttered as Ayesha scoffed.
"Well, you can sleep on the floor if you're going to complain." she threatened as I put my hands up in defense.
"Okay, Okay!" I said as she put the sleeping bag in the middle of the floor.
"I only have this thing because I went to sleepovers a lot," Ayesha said, reminiscing on something.
"And Y/n."
"Yeah?"
"You don't have to worry so much, you know," she said, her tone gentle. "You're not a bother."
"H-Huh?" I asked as Ayesha finished setting up the bed.
"I noticed how you've been acting, we don't think of you as a bother, we are happy to have you over!"Ayesha said smiling as I smiled.
