Rida's pov ──

As I entered my house, a mixture of anger and relief washed over me. The weight of the truth hung heavy on my shoulders, but I knew I had to be strong, to lay it all bare. I didn't even notice the way my eyes were still red and swollen until I saw the look on their faces — my parents, Umar, all of them standing in the living room, their eyes widening with concern as they took in my tear-stained face.

"Rida? What happened? Why are you crying?" Umar's voice was the first to break the silence, thick with worry. He stepped toward me, his gaze fixed on mine.

My parents followed quickly, voices layered over each other. "Where were you, beta?" my mother asked, her brows knitted with worry.

My father's voice softened, but I could hear the unease beneath his words. "My angel... are you alright?"

I managed a nod, brushing a hand over my face to pull myself together. "I'm fine, dad," I whispered, steadying my breath. "But... I have to show you something. Something that's... going to shake the ground beneath you all."

Confusion clouded their expressions as they exchanged glances. I could see the worry deepening in their eyes, but there was no time to soften the blow. I took out my phone, hands trembling slightly, and pulled up the video I'd recorded at the hospital. Holding it tightly for a second, I handed it to Umar, who was standing in the middle of my parents, waiting.

"Watch it," I said, my voice steadier now, a bit firmer. "And... listen carefully."

Their frowns deepened as they crowded around Umar, each one silent as they pressed play. I watched as their eyes widened, as they absorbed the conversation I'd managed to capture — Nida and Ahad's voices, their words slicing through the room like knives.

"Fine... it's your child, Ahad," Nida's voice echoed, a twisted kind of certainty in her tone. "I'm pregnant with your child."

It was as if the air had been sucked out of the room. My father's hand went to his head, his shoulders slumping under the weight of the revelation. Umar's mouth fell open in disbelief, while my mother's face crumbled, her hand flying to her mouth as her eyes began to fill with tears.

I could feel my own hands clench, my voice shaking as I spoke. "It's all true, Mom, Dad. Nida lied... she lied to everyone. She's been blackmailing Zayd, forcing him into this lie. She threatened that if he didn't go along with her story, she would..." I hesitated, the words too bitter to even say. "She said she'd kill herself. And she'd put the blame on all of us."

The sob that my mother was holding back escaped, muffled by her hand. Tears streaked her cheeks as she shook her head in disbelief, as if she couldn't reconcile the girl she'd raised with the woman in that video.

My father's expression twisted with shame, his hand pressing against his forehead as though he could barely bring himself to face any of us. The proud man I'd always known seemed to break right in front of me, and it hurt more than I could say.
