I walked out of the hospital. I was in shock so i didn't cry or scream. Dad always said i was his calm little angel.

Dad.

It just didn't seem right.

I mean I keep expecting him to fetch me from this horrible place but then i have to remind myself that his never coming back. Well unless he has a ghost (which i am really hoping for) and my brain just jumbles up and i start all over again.

I sighed.

Dad had a fight with his relatives loong ago so i don't they would want to take me in. I don't know where I'm going to live. the orphanage? I thought all of a sudden ,terrified, and stopped straight. I started to breathe hard and i went dizzy.

"Violet! Are you OK? Are you going to faint?" Amy called from the car and she started to run towards me.

"I'm fine!" i said standing up straight. Even though i knew, after what happened, i would never be.

...

I waited in the waiting room pretending to read a magazine. I turned the pages look at the pictures and thinking about dad and where ill live.

The person who raised me(without my stupid mom) for so long...gone.

Forever.

I finished the magazine and picked up another one and started flipping through that one. I didn't know what i was doing until i finally turned my attention to a picture in the magazine.

It had a blond seven year old girl with her arms around her blond dad. They both were smiling at each other. I slammed it shut with my heart hammering. I couldn't breath again.

I picked up another magazine. It was a fashion magazine. It had a beautiful lady on it.

Her lovely brown curly hair framed her face and her blue-green eyes sparkled. She smiled warmly and she wore a long flowing black dress. Even though most models where 'shorter' clothing to show off their parts she didn't and she still looked beautiful.

It made me a bit envious. I stared at her face. Why did i she look so familiar? Where did i see the shape of that face? The flashing eyes? The elegantly shaped lips? I shook my head. I think on TV. I didn't see her before and still she looked so familiar. maybe on that fashion show... I thought but Amy's secretary came in and interrupted my thoughts.

"Miss Richards?" she said looking at her clipboard. I stood up.

Why is she asking when i was the only person on the waiting room?

She pushed up her glasses and said, "Follow me please. Ma'am said you can come in" and she gestured me to follow her.

With really high heels she walked fast so I actually half-ran to catch up . She stopped at a door with Amy's name printed on a gold plate. I knocked and the secretary walked (ran?) away.

"Come in" Amy instructed in a strict tone.

Amy was always strict with her assistants. She can really act mean when she really is nice.

When I opened the door her face was set into a serious scowl but she broke into a smile when she saw it was me.

"Ah, Violet! I know its a terrible thing that happened your father and I'm really sorry" She said smiling sadly.

I nodded. My voice didn't want to work since I was thinking about Dad.

"Well even after what happened you will get cheered up with the news I have for you!" She continued and she spread her arms wide as if the surprise was right in front of her on her desk.

"Oh sorry please sit" she said pointing at the expensive chair. - didn't even notice I was standing so I walked like a stiff zombie to the chair. I was getting a bit impatient and I just wanted her to spit it out.

"I found out someone who can take you in and and she is VERY happy to take you in. I just got off the phone with her and she sounded absolutely delighted and don't you think that she's a poor old git, she lives in a mansion! She lives with a 8 year old daughter her name is Scarlet and..."

Amy was babbling so excitedly but she looked so happy for me I didn't have the heart to shout at her to tell me who it was. She only stopped when she saw the look on my face.

"Oh dear I didn't even know what was I saying!" She laughed. "OK Violet Richards you are going to live with..." She paused for dramatic affect I wanted to smack her and pull her hair.

She was getting on my nerves. She's never usually like this but she looked so happy she lost her control. If her assistant saw her she would die of embarrassment. Amy stood up and put her arms in the air dramatically. It seemed to happen in slow motion.

I leaned form the chair breathing hard. My heart pounded. I began to see white spots. My throat went dry. Amy opened her mouth and announced in a happy voice

"...yoouur mom!"

And everything went black.
