It was a normal day. I didn't expect it to happen. It shocked me. I knew it would haunt me forever...It was a normal day and Jinx was over at my house, late at night:

"Man, I'm tired," Jinx yawned at checked the clock, 12:34, "I'm gonna head home and it the sack,"

"Okay, night" I started to pack up our game of Monopoly.

Jinx reached the door and then turned back. "You'll be okay? You still don't look too well"

I nodded, too tired to speak. Too tired. Too much coffee but no sleep. The coffee wasn't helping anymore. As Jinx left, I decided that I'd pack up the Monopoly tomorrow and I headed upstairs to sleep. I tried to argue with myself, every time I closed my eyes, horrific pictures appeared, but I was tired. Mom was out late (again) and Scarlet was fast asleep.

I sat down on my bed and felt something hard. I looked down and groaned. Jinx forgot her phone. Again.

She'll get it tomorrow, I thought grumpily and I put on my bedside table and yawned.

That's when I noticed someone move in the shadows.

I froze, staring around in the dark. I didn't want to grab the phone and call the police. What if i was imagining? I was already ticked off with the guys following me around.

They think I'm a helpless, little girl, but I can handle myself, I had thought but right now I wish someone was here...

"Violet?"

I gave out a little yelp and jumped violently. "Oh, it's only you, Blake" I said in relief.

"I apologize for startling you" He moved into the moonlight, his features glowing handsomely.

"No, it's OK" I sighed.

He sat down next to me and asked: "Where is your mother? Why are you unaccompanied?"

"Scarlet's home and Mom..." I looked away, "had to run some errands"

"Again? Well, Aria Watson will never change"

I noticed he had has arm around my shoulders. I broke away from his grasp, stood up and stared to back away.

"Wh-what do you mean?"

Blake sighed. "Ah, Violet, I came to say sorry"

"What?"

Blake stood up, facing me. "Your the only way I can get revenge out on your mother"

He pulled out a dagger. It shone it the moonlight, it's carved handle beautiful but it's blade dangerous. My throat went dry.

"You?" My voice was weak and my back was against the wall. I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. Something moved outside my slightly opened door.

Blake noticed me looking at the door but he didn't notice the movement. He easily, in two long strides, reached the door and closed it, trapping me.

"Yes,me" He said quietly, his eyes cold and unemotionally.

"Why?" I asked. I decided to buy me some time. Someone could come.

"You still haven't figured it out?" Blake sighed in almost annoyance, "Fine. I will let you die, knowing the truth"

I wasn't really focusing on the truth part just the die part.

"Your mother," He spat the word,"left my father heart broken. He died just a few years after, loneliness eating his heart. I was put in in a stinking orphanage until a rich couple decided to take me in for my looks," (I rolled my eyes at this part, I mean, conceited much?) "and your mother didn't even give a dang about me. You should've seen the way she promised she'd visit me and take care of me. She just left my father and never returned. She is the reason, my father, the person I cared about, is gone!!" Anger blazed in his eyes, "And I will make sure she'll lose everything...including you!"

He lunged at me so fast, I didn't get to move. He pinned me to the ground and held my neck with one hand while the other held a blade.

"Killing the daughter she barely got to knew..it's the perfect way to hurt her" He hissed and then smiled, "and if that doesn't work, I'll go onto to Scarlet too"

"Cops...will.." I gasped, trying to free his grip from my neck. Blake just smiled. An evil smile. Then I realize he was wearing gloves. No fingerprint evidence.

OhcrapOhcrapOhcrap.

I felt my lungs starting burst. I couldn't breath. Why isn't he stabbing me? Maybe he's trying to kill me in a cleaner way.

"Like I said, Vi, I'm sor-"

Bam!

The kick knocked the air right out of Blake. He flew off me and landed next to my bed. The air returned to my lungs and I sat up, coughing. The kick wasn't from me, it was from Jackson. There he was standing over me, his startling green eyes fixed directly at me.

I couldn't but blurt out loudly: "This is so cliché"

Jackson looked at me like Did-you-seriously-say-that? but there was laughter in his eyes. I noticed Blake behind him.

"Jackson!" I yelled but Blake already got him. He lunged on Jackson and started to punch his face. I ran forward and tried to pull him off even though my mind was saying: Run,Dumbo,Run! but my heart was telling me not to...

Can this get any cheesier?!!

Blake got off Jackson (Whew) and turned to me (Crap). He dove at me and pinned me to the ground again.

Gosh, wish I took gym more seriously.

But then again I barely ate or slept these days. Blake started to stab his dagger at me but each time I dodged out of the way. He almost got me on the third strike, just piercing the side of my arm. I shrieked in pain and looked down. Crap, I'm bleeding bad, the cuts deep.

Thwack!

That was my Dressing table's stool that got thwacked to the side of Blake's head. Blake fell to the floor, out cold. Jackson put the stool down, shaking. I was shaking too. The cut on my arm was flowing with warm blood but I ignored it and stared at Blake.

Scarlett's step-brother. The guy who killed Victor. Who terrorized me for weeks...

BOOM!

The door blasted open and came in 2 uniformed men. I shrieked and ran over to Jackson.

"Police Officers!" A man yelled.

I sighed in relief. From now on, I'm going to keep a gun under my pillow...
