Tell me it's ok Fenris x Mage! Hawke

Y/n Pov,

It was a normal seeming mission. Seemed simple enough, go in, fight some bandits, leave and get paid. That's how the mission seemed when I received it. Due to me thinking it was going to be a simple and quick mission I elected to just bring Fenris, didn't think it was necessary to disturb the others on the early mission. I was going to be back before noon anyway, or so I thought.

Once Fenris and I arrived and entered the cave we were swarmed with bandits. There was a lot more than I was told there would be. It was an ambush and I was setup. I knew it was too good to be true, something had to knock me off my high horse. Fenris and I put our backs together and we fight the best we can while being surrounded. I send out shocks and waves of energy and it seems we are making good progress until a guy comes out of the corner of Fenris and my vision and makes a quick slash at Fenris. He notices too late and get hit in the side of his ribs, knocking all the air out of his lungs and causing a gash to appear. I hear a loud grunt right behind me and I knew, Fenris got downed. I sent out one finally wave of energy at the last enemy in front of me. I quickly turn and see Fenris on the ground curled up trying to put pressure on his gash. I cover my body over his and for a brief moment I lost control and sent out a huge wave of energy that practically light up the whole room nearly killing everything around me that isn't directly under me. I come to my senses and look up, one guy is left. I am almost out of energy and need a moment to get my breath.

"I can help you," a whisper in my ear says. "I can give you more energy to allow you to kill that bandit and get your lover out of here."

"N-no... Get out of my head Demon. I won't listen to you. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!" I take a deep breath and carefully try to stand. I hold out my staff and point it at the bandit. in my delusional state I swear the bandit in front of me was the demon I heard whispering in my ear. "You will not tempt me," I mutter under my breath and send a wave of energy at the bandit killing it instantly. One I sent that wave out, I drop to my knees from exhaustion. I hover Fenris's body, he's still alive.

"You'll be ok. Just look at me." I barely sputter as I check his wounds. I try to push a smile so as I don't worry him. "Fenris, you'll be ok, just hold on for another moment." I try to hold back my tears. I don't want him to see my fear and make him lose hope that we won't make it out. I push out another wave of healing energy to no avail. The energy is barely enough to close the wound. "I knew I should have brought the others," I whisper under my breath.

"Y/N..." Fenris softly spoke, "it's going to be ok. You're a Hawke, you'll figure out how to get us out safely."

I pull back and check my surroundings. "Can you stand up and lean on me?" I ask as I gently pull Fenris up. He gets up and leans his weight on me. The combination of my exhaustion and the drive to get Fenris to safety were battling each other. Luckily were still close to the cave entrance and if we got outside we'd just have to wait for Aveline's patrol that should be in the next two hours.

I slowly make my way to the entrance of the cave, and it takes all my will to keep going. Each steps feels like hell and it feels like I will never make it out. Once I each the cave mouth I move to lay Fenris by the entrance. I lay beside him and release one more healing wave on Fenris before passing out from exhaustion.

Time Skip,

"Hawke, wake up. We are safe," a voice cried. "Anders if she doesn't make it, I will come after you."

"Fenris, she will wake. Be patient and get back in bed, your wounds are worse than Hawke's. Honestly I don't know how you woke before her," Anders replied. I then hear a rustling and commotion to what I can assume is Anders having to fight Fenris to get him to get back in the bed. I then hear what seems to be a cot scraping on the ground, a huff, and feel a hand grab my hand.

"It will be ok Hawke, we made it out of the cave. I love you Hawke," Fenris whispered. I hear Anders sigh and mutter something under his breath.
